Topic: Kinect vs Move

From what I played at E3, Move even blew away Wii Motion Plus in terms of accuracy and responsiveness. I can't wait to see what Sony does with it. Kinect didn't impress me too much. It has a lot of potential, but most of that will depend on how well developers can find ways to make creative use of the technology. We'll have to wait and see.

My friends who work in retail say the pre-order numbers for both are incredibly low, Kinect is doing way batter than Move from what I hear in our markets. They think they'll both flop after all is said and done, more so with Move since you'll need a wand, camera and nunchuk, I don't know if they're sold separately, I haven't checked. They're expecting Sony to be the only developers that develop for it besides an influx of Wii ports. I couldn't name a game that really uses PS Eye besides Eye of Judgment. I'm still debating, but I'll probably cancel my Amazon order for Kinect since it doesn't appear to appeal to my preference of games.

What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.

It seems like Microsoft and Sony are copying ideas from Nintendo.

My bad, I meant to say Move works but Kinect doesn't. Even in the most Microsoft-biased media I could get my hands on, they still talked about all the problems Kinect had.

Move. So far I know of one game I'm getting for it and a whopping zero I'm getting for Kinect.

Move looks like it will work better for ACTUAL games and probably will just work better in general. But you have to give Microsoft credit for coming up with a more original idea then the Playstation Thwii controller.

Playstation Move, in development since 2004. When will people learn?

Anyway, Move > pile of dung > Kinect. Seriously, I find everything about Kinect embarassing to the gaming community as a whole. This article, along with pretty much every other article comparing the two machines I've seen, has it right.

Yeah in 2004 the playstation team said
"How about we relese a wand that you wave around for the PS2?"
Everybody laughed at him, told him only an idiot would think that will sell, and fired him.
In other words there is absolutly no way the Move was being made 6 years
ago. Sure they might have brought up the idea once or twice and the good
people at Sony think that, if you say one word about something but then
forget about it for 4 years, then see that what you laughed at is a big success, then they can say development started when they were having a good chuckle about how a motion controlled wand would fail. That is why there is also a ball on the controller to show that their "genious" and totally "original" design isn't a rip-off

@Stuff.... thanx for clearing that up. Sony has confirmed that the MOVE was in development way before Wii was released. The Eyetoy creator wanted MOVE or something like it long ago, but the tech wasnt there. Wii is AWESOME, nobody denies that here. MOVE has the massive horsepower in the PS3 behind the MOVE and the Eyetoy motion tracking the gamer to push games further than what the Wii can.

One of the greatest things that MOVE does and so many people dont realize is that with the use of Eyetoy motion tracking the Move wand its also tracking the player. This is how the games get the feedback properly, so if you in the game and its tracking you and you squat down the onscreen character will squat down in turn. Not only is the wand tracked but the player also. From what all Ive seen online, this is a massive deal for MOVE that integrates the gamer, much like Kinect, as well as the wand. Where as we all know the Wii is just the pointer.
