Eww, no thanks! It's an amazing game as it is, don't change it With it's old school visuals, it will only have very limited appeal for 'casual gamers' anyway, so it'd be a waste of time and ruin the integrity of the game. Just how I feel anyway. Your game is perfect.
I think that's a good idea to expand the appeal. There's nothing wrong with optional difficulty levels.
For the people that are fans of the original, hardcore version, it will still be there. They are losing absolutely nothing. But adding more fans into the fold would be cool. Not everyone is a hardcore gamer, and I think this is a game that absolutely could appeal to "casuals" for a number of reasons. Not only the graphics that will remind them of the NES days, but runners in general are very popular.
Haha, I expected (and feel pretty much exactly split between) these two responses. I love Kid Tripp's NES-like simplicity, but I feel like I'm cutting out a lot of people who have the game from enjoying it.
MeWario, would you care if you had a choice between "Casual/Intense" when you tap New Game? And if you've already beaten the game, it'd automatically have Intense selected for you (similar to "Continue" being auto-selected if a game's in progress), you'd just have to tap it. Apart from an extra screen when you tap New Game, this would have no effect on people who like playing it the way it is.
@pixelman Holy crap did I forget you were making a game. I saw the Polaris review and suddenly remembered. Good job ol pix! I recently got an iPhone, so I guess I'll give it a shot. I wonder if anyone will remember me in which case lol sup
@pixelman I say allow the casual option, no harm in opening the game up to a larger audience. I'm sure there are some people that adore your game but can't get past the first levels.
@Colors Son, you been missed. But I see you're in good hands. ;_____;

I just beat this game. It is now either my 1st or 2nd favorite platformer ever (behind maybe Donkey Kong Country Returns). The last level is a masterpiece. To everyone who worked on this, kudos (even to you @Aviator. Our semi-feud can now end).
EDIT: 2-D platformer. It's my 1st or 2nd favorite 2-D platformer.
