Hey, finally got my 16GB beauty 2 days ago. Anyone have advice on good games/apps (free ones are most welcome) please do so. Also, anyone who wants to play games with me like Kingdom Live or Robofighter lite, (or w/e else, thats just what I have that comes to mind) please add me or tell me your info! Additional: feel free to mention your favorite paid apps/games as well, as my birthday is coming up and I hope to be able to treat myself to Diner Dash, Firmware 3.0, etc. (is 3.0 worth the $10?)

Trapster is pretty awesome. It's like google maps, but it also tells you where cops like to sit, speed trap locations, red light cameras, etc. It's pretty sweet for a free app. I don't play games a lot on it, except for word warp (you may have heard of text twist) and tetris.

Yeah but the only difference between first gen and second gen was external speakers (as far as i know) so I don't regret buying one (especially since I did it during a special weekend and didn't have to pay sales tax.)

iphone resident evil 4 is friggin' magical. There's a new grand-theft auto clone by gameloft that's pretty awesome too.
IMO, best value currently is probably Hero of Sparta, which is a God of War clone, and a pretty good one at that. There's also Asphalt 4, which I feel is superior to the DSi version and 1/8 the price (99 cents for both HoS and A4). Basically, type in Gameloft in the app store and download all their free versions of everything. Megaman 2 is also out, in addition to Sonic, Golden Axe, Collumns, and something else. There's a freebie called Tap Quest that's sort of a simple-RTS meets Zelda 1 game that has free downloadable expansions every week. It's a great time waster.
DEFINITELY get Tap Tap Revenge 2.6...free Guitar-Hero-ey game, all free tracks, 2-player vs. on one unit, etc. It's probably the single best game on the entire system AND it's free.
But yeah, in summation RE4, Hero of Sparta, Asphalt 4 as pay apps and TTR and Tap Quest as free apps. RE4 is 7 bucks, which is pretty brutal, but it's the "wow other people" app currently...phenomenal touch-screen adaptation of RE4/RE5's battle system too, with a while-aiming sidestep ability that is a welcome addition.
Thanks for the recommendations. I was looking at getting RE4. I have demoed the other RE game (Degeneration,based on the CGI movie). It seems similar and is $1 cheaper currently so I was wondering if you or anyone else have tried that.

Time Crisis and Assassin's creed are some of my favoirtes that have lite demos. Also, there's pop for the ihone so if you liked the Wii version, it's a no brainer. Finally, I heard Doom Resurecction was good but I haven't played it yet.

Just got MaxInjury ($0.99) and loving it. Basically, you push a ragdoll down various hills or freefalls while hitting things so you get injury and obstacle points. There's also a free version that has the first level. I recommend this app, you can even map a photo you have on your device of someone's face onto the ragdoll's face (with mixed results, but whatever.)

lol, thats because it registers in my mind when a price is a goofy decimal (just use dollars.) It especially bugs me that (at least in the US) they have a gas price of $2.39 with an extra 9 at the end. Thats right, they do it for the cents now too. Very annoying. But no, I'm not an ad. I've been on this site (and its predecessors) for about a year and a half.
