PS3 phat (not the Backwards compatible one) 160 GB with uncharted and all the controllers and wires for only $274 at a local store. its used, but still boxed apparently. Sounds almost too good to be true. Might get this instead of the slim, i really have no idea where to put my savings now lol

u think its better than getting a slim to get this deal? or is the slim really much improved and worth sticking with for my purchase?
5. Posted: Sun 25th Oct 2009 20:47 GMT
get this instead this is cheaper for more hardrive and a game
6. Posted: Sun 25th Oct 2009 21:05 GMT
ok thanks man, prolly will do, its strange that the ps3 slim doesnt have any bundles, ud expect something like that for a new released system

there will be a uncharted 2 2 controllers and 250 gb ps3 for 400 dollars this november
8. Posted: Sun 25th Oct 2009 22:36 GMT
wow thats a great deal, cuz think about it, a ps3 slim 120 gb is 300, uncharted is 60, and 1 extra controller is 50 which is a total of 410...u save 10 dollars and get 130 extra gigs of hardrive. thats a great deal, if u have 500 bucks to spend, i for one think i will take my 274 dollar deal and by a used 2nd controller for 15-20 bucks

It got sold to someone else castle lol, it didnt wait until christmas break, o well, they got an 80gb one now for $200...Im still pleased with that, but its got an annoying scratch on it, ill wait for more and more used ps3 to come in around xmas time
10. Posted: Tue 27th Oct 2009 22:38 GMT
that is also a great deal but the uncharted deal is only in uk so unless you plan to go there or get it off ebay you can't get it

DaDun get the slim brand new.You can't beat that 299 price dude. I would get a ps3 slim at 299 and go ahead and spend an extra 100$ on a 500 gig labtop harddrive( a monkey could install it so you can too), that way you'll never need to upgrade it. Plus with all that memory you can keep movies and demos that you like on your harddrive with out having to worry about deleting them when you run out of memory. Oh and have plenty of room for DLC and PSN games, there are a bunch of great titles on it so go ahead and buy a 20$ psn card with the purchase of your ps3. Get ready to spend 400$ to start you off especially if you want another controller. It sounds like alot and it is but trust me you'll have the biggest grin once you get home and start playing that wonderful, sexy, powerful machine. 80gigs is a tease man you'll see once you get into the world of sony

@Castle i c i c, the uncharted 1 wasnt my real motivation to buy the 160, just the nice price
@Odd69 OK ill prolly do that BUT if another 160gb fat one comes in at a $275 pricetag again u wud say its better to get that than a slim one right? And how much quieter is it for blu ray, considerably, cuz i thot the fat one was already quiet?
13. Posted: Tue 27th Oct 2009 23:46 GMT
Almost any fat is better than a Slim, seriously... the 80GB one is not that bad of a deal, except for the scratch you say it has... but as long as it's only aesthetic, it isn't that important...
You can easily upgrade the HDD, and HDD prices are quite low, so don't base your purchase on that...you could always upgrade the HDD later, they have been on a price downhill ever since the introduction of SSD

man its so weird, to me 80GB sounds like so much, wud i really need to update the hardrive? is like every game safe like 2 GB or sumthing? anyway i plan on capitalizing on a 160GB deal if they get another one and if not i dunt know, i really wish they had kept the slim with the old finish, the matte to me makes it look so cheap, performance for both models is identical right?
15. Posted: Tue 27th Oct 2009 23:58 GMT
Blu-Rays load slightly faster on Slim, Games work slightly faster on Phat...
You don't need to upgrade the HDD if you don't need to... I still have plenty of space, even after I made the Linux partition and installed it...

finally sony got a good deal

I've used up atleast 100 gigs already, but im a downloading machine. The slim is 120 gigs right? if so that should be more than enough=)

lol i c, i only plan no getting 1 psn game which will be wipeout HD, the rest of my time will be retail games and blu ray movies! yay, btw odd69, do u know whether or not u can take music off ur ipod and put it on ur ps3? i have an ipod touch
19. Posted: Thu 29th Oct 2009 23:06 GMT
YOu can transfer from itunes to a usb which you can then transfer to the ps3
20. Posted: Thu 29th Oct 2009 23:24 GMT
I thought you could just plug the iPod to a USB port on the PS3 and play music from it, just like on the 360, never tried though...
If it can't be done, you should just put the CDs on the PS3 and rip them from there... if they are iTunes purchases, simply make a backup of them (you MUST have a backup afterall! lol)
