Vid they nothing but outdated gaming PCs? What's your opinion?
Can't you say this about most game systems? Consoles are consoles, PC is PC.
That's the thing though, alot of games are ported from/to PC, but this generation is getting redundant with games being ported from current gen consoles to PC ridiculously quickly and in huge quantaties. Making the console port sort of irrelevant for people with a good gaming PC.
The consoles serve the same purpose they've always have, an affordable, easy to use gaming device. Its not like if they didn't exist most people would suddenly have a good gaming PC in their place, they wouldn't have anything close to the PS4 or Xbox One, and would likely keep that same PC for years. So in a way, consoles uphold a certain standard for game development.
@Jazz007
The problem with this gen though is that the PS4 and Xbone are already being pushed to their limits, and that's before the big name exclusives have shown up! Not to mention "next-gen" games being ported backwards,* when their successors are already out.*
Say what you will about the Wii U, but it has a better "gimmick" than power that will be outdated in a month.
They aren't being pushed to their limits, I don't think they at even using all their power yet. There is a big difference between two as well. Using all the power just means using 100% of the power, pushing it to the limit means doing everything you can with that power. The PS3/360's power was used at 100% back in 2009, but their limits were far from being truely pushed. The reason the games are being ported backwards is also simply because PS360 has a large userbase, and it is a shame that they are holding the next-gen versions back.
The Wii U's gimmick had also failed to be used in a way that matches or exceeds what the power of the PS4 has already done too. Nintendo has failed to show what makes it so great so far, and I eagerly await for them to show that reason.
Pretty dumb point. High end PCs have always been more powerful than consoles, and always made the console ports of games look bad. Does that mean consoles have irrelevant for the last 20 years? The vast majority of people don't know expensive high end PCs, and don't want to game on a computer. How often does a game sell more on PC than consoles?
The PS3 and 360 were having the same arguments thrown at them when they launched, because they couldn't run Crysis like it ran on a PC, but that same hardware was pushing out amazing technical performance in games such as The Last of Us and GTA V years later.
PC doesn't have cycles like consoles do a person can keep improving their gaming PC year after year so of cause PC will always be stronger then consoles does that make PS4, Xbox One and Wii U irrelevant no as consumers are still buying them simple as that.
Also this thread is stupid.
No offense, but I don't know why you made this thread in the first place. I don't care about alot of stuff people buy, but that only makes them irrelevant to me, as an individual, not overall, The only thing I can say for certain people shouldn't buy, are Beat Audio products. That is 100% fact.

Conversation and choas good sir. Which this thread lacks vastly. @Unca_Lz Lock good sir.
I really like Rich from ReviewTechUSA, but he's not actually saying what you think he is saying, TC....
He's simply making a point about the convergence of "third party titles" across the PC, Xbox, and Playstation architecture, and how big name exclusives are fewer and farther between.
I think he makes some great points in that video, and maybe in a generation or two consoles that mimic a medium-range PC will be irrelevant as budgets on major releases skyrocket, making exclusivity difficult to hold on to.
For all the crap Nintendo gets for third party games selling poorly and migrating...there is an entirely different set of problems that XboxOne and PS4 face now in terms of third parties and exclusivity contracts.
Anyway...YES.
Yes those consoles are still relevant and probably will be into the foreseeable future.
While I've seen a bunch of his videos, whether I agree or disagree with him on a given topic, he always seems to phrase things in the most antagonizing way possible. I imagine it's like to help drive comments which helps increase clicks + views.

Talk about "Your Mileage May Vary",
I often find myself in agreement with you Dreamz, and I think the way Rich words his videos is snarky, but not antagonistic at all...it just goes to show how people can interpret tone differently, and neither of us is actually wrong.
I think you have to take into context the mentality of a large portion of the gaming fandom. Rich has to tread very carefully or get one faction of fanboys too riled up while keeping things in perspective and still be entertaining enough to get Youtube traffic. He's no Nintendo fanboy, and he's trashed and praised all platforms pretty fairly.
