Even if you hate this guy, you have to question whether or not the PS4 or the Xbone are truly relevant when they nothing but outdated gaming PCs? What's your opinion?
Vid they nothing but outdated gaming PCs? What's your opinion?
Can't you say this about most game systems? Consoles are consoles, PC is PC.
That's the thing though, alot of games are ported from/to PC, but this generation is getting redundant with games being ported from current gen consoles to PC ridiculously quickly and in huge quantaties. Making the console port sort of irrelevant for people with a good gaming PC.
How is this topic even relevant? I don't see how this is interesting at all.
Simple, I'm bored. Start some choas.
Fair enough.aaaAH... XBONE AND PS400 ARE LIKE PC'S AND THUS NOT RELEVANT BECAUSE WII U IS A CONSOLE AND NOT A PC BECAUSE NO 3RD PARTY SUPPORT NO INCOME NO RELEVANCE THUS NO PC!!!

But a plot twist appears... Nintendoomed since 1989!

They aren't relevant for people like myself who have a really nice, dedicated gaming computer. Lots of people don't, however, and it's those people who the PS4 and XB1 are very relevant for.
But for me, Gaming PC + Wii U is a winning combination.
Are they relevant? PS4 7 million sales says yes. They are relavant if you don't prefer to mess with custom gaming PC, maybe a gamepad is the preferred method of gaming and you don't want to play most games with a keyboard and mouse, if you want to play on a TV (not all TVs and computers mix well with resolution leaving important game information that you can't go without off the TV for one reason in this catagory), you want the overall simplicity with a gaming console that PC can't match, you want the console games that don't get a PC port, and lets not forget exclusives, those can make up a large portion of someones gaming diet. Yes, even if you have a decent PC, they are still relevant. I have a good laptop, and almost always get a game on PS3 instead if possible.
Even if all of the reasons don't apply for whatever reason, there is one reason they are relevant that affects PC games and gamers, and makes PS4/Xbone relevant. Games will be based off PS4 and Xbone. They will be designed to run on them and that will affect game design. There will be a few PC exclusive games here and there, but most games on PC will be limited by PS4/Xbone's power. There is also always a more powerful computer, so they aren't really outdated anymore than virtually all high-end gaming PCs in a way, in a way standard level of gaming power the masses have and use, is the standard so in a way the they will be in date till PS5/Next Xbox come out.
@Jazz007
The problem with this gen though is that the PS4 and Xbone are already being pushed to their limits, and that's before the big name exclusives have shown up! Not to mention "next-gen" games being ported backwards,* when their successors are already out.*
Say what you will about the Wii U, but it has a better "gimmick" than power that will be outdated in a month.
Unfortunately, the only consistently relevant new system is 3DS right now. Maybe PS4, but I don't put "relevant" and "popular" as one and the same and much of the PS4 owners straight up admit its not been the best so far...
Wii U is relevant right now thanks to Mario Kart and Xbox One was relevant for a bit when Titanfall came out. Otherwise...eh...

You talk about the other consoles being outdated, but ignore the fact the Wii-U is even less powerful than both of them?
You haters can say what you want but both the PS4 and X1 are doing phenomenal right now, and it has been less than a year since they released. Do they have anything to warrant a purchase right now? No, but its not like that won't change in the future.No matter how much you guys hate Sony, or Microsoft, they will continue to be successful, no matter how much you despise them for whatever reason. They may not be relevant to some, but they are to plenty of others.

All I can say is console exclusives. That's what makes the consoles relevant. It's what makes Nintendo Relevant because if we talk about outdated PCs well the Wii U takes the cake with that one.
@Jazz007
...... the PS4 and Xbone are already being pushed to their limits, and that's before the big name exclusives have shown up!
Doubtful.
^This. I don't think even the Wii U (which has existed longer) has been pushed to it's limits so I'm pretty sure there's still more to be done on PS4 and XB1.

I'm not a hater, I just want choas. It entertains me.
In all seriousness though, you don't need to bring up the Wii U's lack of power because it's already well known. The Wii U's focus isn't power , but the gamepad imo. PS4 and Xbone's relevancy is in question due it's focus of power. My question was born of the vid in the original post, watch it,
Don't turn this into a fanboy accusation fest, I just want a clean choasful debate.

Shrug, I'm just going off what I was told. Who knows how strong the PS4 and Xbone really are, but the fact that games on PC similar architecture struggle to preform optimally is worrying

People compare consoles to consoles, not consoles to PC's. The PC being the most powerful is a well known fact, period. Nobody is going to argue that, but for console standards, both the PS4 and X1 are powerful. People stay with consoles for a couple of reasons, which is why Console gaming is still going strong, why not advertise it as being powerful?
And that haters statement wasn't exactly directed towards you.
