I have been playing Chrono Trigger DS and it is one of the best games I have ever played. I must ask though is Chrono Cross better or worse then Chrono Trigger?
I didn't like Chrono Cross nearly as much as Chrono Trigger, but it's still a great rpg and should not be missed. They just have a different feel to them. And I'm playing Chrono Trigger on my DS right now as well. Taking a break from the Drill Sergeant game.
Well anyhow Chrono Cross is on the Playstation. As I remember when I was young I played through it about halfway and put it down and started to play Crash Bandicoot. Though I was young and I did like though when I played Chrono Trigger DS I enjoyed that just a little bit more.
But if you like Chrono Trigger you SHOULD(if you want), try out Cross

it's worse. i got burned by it pretty hard (i screwed up and didn't steal something I should've and then i got stuck), and I gave up on it. I suppose one of these days I'll get around to finishing it, but Chrono Trigger was so awesome, I'm actually sad it has Cross for a sequel. :/

Chrono Trigger was an amazing game with an easy too understand story. It's sequel Chrono Cross was an amazing sequel with the most amazing music in a video game and with a not so easy to understand plot. The game is not bad, though. It is quite tough compared to Chrono Trigger. Technically, Trigger is a better game, but still like others said, if you liked Trigger you don't want to miss Cross.
They're almost complete different games with the Chrono name attached from my experience. Choosing one, I have a soft spot for the characters and simplicity of the original. I really like them both though, and I'm not a huge RPG fan.

I'm saying it's better, if only because it can't be worse than its predecessor. It's also cheaper - I saw Chrono Chross priced at a mear $25, while CT is still over $30 used. Honestly, I woulda got CC too, but I was a day late and a dollar short, literally. I'll just wait for the inevitable PSN release instead.
While most people will tell you that Cross is worse then Trigger, I like them about the same. I didn't play Chrono Trigger back on the SNES, mainly because back then I'm like some kids now, if it wasn't Final Fantasy it's not worth my time. I've grown to realize how stupid that thinking is. I Played Cross 1st & thought it was a great game, then played Trigger & it was equally good. So long as you have an open mind (which I find many of the Cross sux group don't have) you'll enjoy both equally well.
Flandre Scarlet, she's cute, she's colorful, she can blow up entire cities, she's also a vampire. Start running sparklepants.
Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are two totally different styles of games. Both are really great in their own way! Personally I like Chrono Trigger a lot more than I do Chrono Cross but I would never consider it worse than its predecessor. Since you already have the first one on DS then I would highly recommend that you play Chrono Cross but only after you are done with Chrono Trigger.
@Mickeymac: just so you know, Final Fantasy Chronicles (the FFIV+CT PSX re-release) can be found for pretty cheap on eBay. :3

Peh, after shipping it ain't. At least with CC (or alternatively CTDS)I could find cheap at a store, then I don't have to wait for it, pay extra fees, nor risk it getting lost or damaged during delivery. Plus, FF Chronicles were wholey inferior to their later remakes(hence why it's cheaper - because no one wants a crummy remake) , so either way you're paying for lesser quality.
Thanks for the advice, guys! I went ahead and bought Chrono Cross BRAND NEW at Amazon. I will however, complete Chrono Trigger first. I want to see Chrono Trigger 3 ASAP!

as CC was a PSX game, i chose to focus on that version; any store selling CC would be just as likely to have FFC in stock. eBay has at least one 'brand new' GH copy at about $13, and shipping would bring it up to about $17. turn your nose up at the PSX remake (which was the first one I played, and I loved it, thanks) all you like, i'm just saying that you weren't looking very hard when you said you couldn't find a copy of CT below $30 used.
