That's a shame, but I'm all for people doing what they want. One thing that bugs me across all media is to just keep pumping something out until it flops. I can't wait to see what Ken does next.
What disaster? It did pretty well, some issues with DLC aside.
But anyways, they're doing it for reasons other than money. The guy wants to focus on smaller games now. Though I agree with Kodeen, firing wasn't the best idea to go with there...
Before the game came out there were several delays, a lot of people were laid off during development, and a large portion of the game was cut, including multiplayer. I don't know how much money it made, but I can't imagine they made much money after all the problems.

tbh it just sounds like Levine got bored of the AAA business and wanted to revert to something smaller. There wasn't really anything financial to do with Infinite that caused this. I can't really blame him for thinking like that, although I do wish he somehow didn't lay off nearly all his employees.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
