Just starting playing before I head off to work, I gotta say, so far I'm pretty impressed.

I was a bit worried that the title would skew more towards the sim type, but really, the comparisons to the old Project Gotham Racing games are pretty spot it, and it even has that fame / kudos comparison (IE, you gain "points" for well you take corners, etc).............it's more realistic than say, any Need for Speed title, but it's more forgiving than Gran Turismo or the core Forza series. Overall I'm enjoying how the handling was tackled.

Graphically, it's not as impressive as I thought it would be, but don't get me wrong, it's still a very good looking game, and the landscapes are gorgeous.

Menu system is pretty simple and easy to navigate.

Well I would hope so, considering PS4 has nothing going on in terms of exclusives otherwise this year.

Project Gotham Racing is probably the only time I've enjoyed racing games like this so that's a big plus. Honestly, that's one of the things I'll give the original Xbox was that the games I played often felt like they were making more realistic playing games but they were actually fun (I forget what that Xbox snowboarding game was but it was basically what I wanted 1080 to be)

When it has all the latest third party games to keep you entertained in between exclusive titles releasing people don't care how long they have to wait.

Will give drive club a go when I get home been looking forward to this game for what feels like a year.

Thank you! That was what it was. I always want to say Amplitude but no...that's a rhythm game. Anyway, it was a fun snowboarding game without being SSX levels of crazy, which is cool.

The last "realistic" racing game that I really got into was GT2 way back on PS1. I'm sure I'd be blown away by how far the genre has come since then. Maybe some day I'll get back into it. I don't have a PS4 right now, but I've accepted that as a JRPG fan, I'll have to get one eventually.

Even as a pretty big PlayStation guy I didn't have much faith in this game. Fortunately it seems that the 11-month delay saved it from disaster (it was seriously looking like a 4 or 5/10 if it released last year based on how bad hands-on previews were) and I'm looking forward to playing the PS Plus Edition but it's pretty clear it isn't among the best racers out there unfortunately. It's more disappointing when you consider how long Evolution Studios had to work on this game and then you see the relatively short time Playground Games had to turn around Forza Horizon 2 and the latter ends up not only outshining DriveClub big time but also ends up being among the best open world racers ever made. Makes me wonder what Evolution was doing with all the time it had, it' not like that team puts out anything other than racing games.

Yeah from what I have read is that it reminds people of the Project Gotham series which for me is great since I am not big on racing sim games like Gran Turismo or Forza. I was hoping to play this game today but due to some "hiccup" it doesnt look like I will be playing it till tomorrow night the earliest.

The Giant Bomb footage didn't really help the game look that exciting tbh, but than Jeff tends to do that with games.

Its unfortunate that beyond all the delays this game has had, its been compounded by the no show PS+ version and PlayStation Network not working despite being a paid service.

90% of the problem is nobody calls Sony on their bs. Meanwhile I see morons complaining that Forza Horizon 2 had a week one car pack...

So this looks to be a pretty good driving non-sim(GOOD!) game to mess around with eh? I'm waiting on them to fix their problems and get the PS Plus version out. Driving games after N64 and Dreamcast fell off my radar as something I can find enjoy for more than a few hours tops so I can't see jumping in at full price. If the freebie ends up really sucking me in, then yeah sure why not. I wish they'd fix their crappy server problems already so I can see how this fits my interests.
