Now that I have a PS3, I find my PS2 to be useless. I can already play PS2 and PS1 games on my PS3, so what's the point of having it anymore? (Same goes with my Gamecube, I guess ) I'm thinking of selling it on Craigslist and make couple bucks for newer games for the PS3 and Wii. Is there anyone out there who's thinking I'm making a bad decision?

How do you play PS2 games on your PS3, it's not backward compatible anymore.
It's not. Well I just finished playing MGS3 on my PS3 a couple minutes ago I had to make a memory card on my PS3 for PS2 and PS1 games to do it. Have you tried that?

Do you have a Slim. My little brother just got a Slim and is claiming he can play PS2 games as well, Ive got to see it to believe it. I did download the software free on PSN and made a seperate internal memory slot but it will not read PS2 format, it will PSone but Not 2.

sell the PS2, if your PS3 can play PS2 games, no point on keeping it... you could save for games, or get a $250 Xbox 360 lol (that would include selling your GameCube maybe...)

I object! Even if you can play your PS2 games on the PS3, it is still a good idea to keep it. If something happens to your PS3, or even just to keep it as a "collectors item", it will be worth it later on.

But the choice is yours, in 10-20 years it will be valuable, and you will be lucky to have it. The only way you are going to get paid well is if you sell it to someone in Japan, they still sell like crazy in Japan.

I have come to regret selling any console or game i've owned..... except my PS1 back in '99 so I could afford a Dreamcast. But since the PS2 has sold a gazillion units I think you should get what you can for it. If I didnt just get a used slim I would offer you $60 for what you listed, you can probably get a little more for all that though.

Hey man, I wish I had a PS2, much more a PS3 that's backward compatible, but do whatever you want to do. I would just keep it for the sake of someone else not taking care of it and it not being a waste. Plus, sometimes it's just cool to play the old stuff on the old stuff. Did you ever see the Green youtube video that said that consoles go to waste and it hurts our environment? I don't remember the name of the creator and the company but that's probably what will end up happening if you sell it...
Does anyone know how to post an item on craigslist? I figure I should just have my PS2 up for about a week and if nothing comes up, I'll keep it, but I don't know how to post something on craigslist.
