Topic: Im planning on getting the ps3 slim. Who else is planning to do the same?

i would,but im low on cash and there are still plenty of games i want for my Wii...when i truly need a blu ray player i'll get the PS3 but until then,theres no way im getting it

I'm getting this with little big planet game of the year edition and sonics ultimate genesis collecton. Maybe Valkyria but I have to wait until october

Quite clearly it does, which is why you're driven mad by jealousy to the point that you insist that paying more for less is better than paying less for more, efficiency is bad, slim is ugly, bloated is beautiful, war is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is strength (!)

I wouldn't waste my money on a PS3 and I wouldn't expand my games budget to consider the PS3 games which are a bit soulless anyway. That's just my honest opinion like

@AlexSays-So you dislike the PS3 Slim just because it looks ugly to you? To me, it looks pretty cool. Does it really matter how a console looks? The NES, SNES, and N64 are not beautiful consoles. But, I buy consoles and handhelds for games, not for looks. Most of the time, you have a pretty valid point. But, what you said does not make ANY SENSE to me. I already have a 80 GB PS3, so I'm not buying a PS3 Slim.

Also the one I have fits perfectly in my little cabinet thing I have with my Wii. Throwing a fun-sized PS3 in there would just make things look weird.

And it costs what, about a hundred bucks for a 500 gb hard drive? So I could sell mine, buy a slim, and be out money because I'd likely buy a bigger hard drive anyway.

Maybe some people never experienced "Sexy" and have no problems with "Ugly".

Alexsays...what a case u are, how bout i ask it this way. IF U DIDNT HAVE A PS3 already, and u had the choice to buy the same ps3 u have now at the original price u bought it or the ps3 at $299. what would u choose?

I've considered it.
blu ray, wireless built in (like the wii), and certain games like little big planet, sf IV, king of fighters XII, demon's souls, wipeout, have made the lower price tempting. Not too many other games I'd want though and not sure if enough to make me want a whole nother system. I love my ps2 though.

If it were backwards compatible I'd consider it.
Are PS3's region locked?

@Outrunner: No they are not. It's completely region-free, any games will work on the PS3 (With a few exceptions.).

That's asking me to wait because both options weren't available at the same time.

I already knew there'd be a cheaper PS3 down the road and that there'd likely be a slimmer model. So I'd still go the same way.
