i am wondering if you can make it better/longer on your spare tim or when ever.
I don't have much free time these days... Not to mention you just got the program an hour ago. Also the link didn't work. Not to be condescending or off putting, but asking other people to finish your work for you in their spare time tends not to go over well. Neither does bad grammar and spelling when making a request.
Just trying to be helpful!

Got another 3 monsters done! Map's 100%, AI is actually almost 100%, none of the systems are stitched together, and still gotta draw / plot the bosses and make a shop system. Not too much more to go!

OK... nevermind... This will take a bit longer, mostly due to me getting roadblocked by the most bizarre bug / issue I've ever come across in all my years.
I apparently had a font delete itself. I have no idea how that's even possible - I certainly didn't do it manually - but all of the text in my game was manually formatted (and the entire UI designed) around a font that now no longer exists. Which, again, vanished without a trace. Everything is now in Terminal resolution, which looks terrible. This is infuriating, and I can't work anymore today for fear of breaking my laptop or writing a profanity-laden email to the manufacturers of the software I use to develop.
Seriously. This kind of stuff is why most people never finish games. I know people have said "but it's not my fault" before... but jesus. This is the ultimate example of not my fault. Literally woke up and noticed all my fonts were different - look at slides 2 and 3 in this gif for proof. I even changed the UI formatting due to the accidental-new font in the player UI box... But yeah, that old font is gone.
Seriously - if any of you know what the font pictured in the text box / Sword/Armor displays in the 2nd frame of this gif, PLEASE let me know, as I'd really like to keep this random mishap from ruining this project. I just simply don't have the time to redo everything at this point - too much hinges on this font.

So an incredibly kind hearted gentleman on the click team forums totally identified the proper font based on sight!!! Totally know what it is now - it's a nonstandard version of the fixedsys font. No clue how I got that special variant or how I lost it, but at least I know what it was!
It isn't a standard windows font though so I do need to change it to ensure compatibility. At least I'm not crazy! Woo!
Just started reading this thread and have been hooked for the past hour. It's really awesome you're challenging yourself to do this. Reading these posts and listening to your game's music has inspired me to try making my own music again (I haven't worked on any music projects for the past 4 months or so). Keep up the great work, can't wait to experience the final game!

Up until 6 months ago I was in the same boat man. Had just quit my job, had no idea what to do with all my free time, other than a vague desire "to make my own games" - no battle plan, no idea about forming a company or branding, nothing much at all. One day I woke up and dusted off the trusty (I'm talking, hadn't-made-music-in-3-years-trusty) equipment and gave it a go. A week later and I had half a soundtrack and a 2 level demo playable!
A month after that, I had an idea of what I was going to attack. A month after that, I had an idea for how I wanted to structure my company and what I wanted to do - and a month after that, my company was registered!
Glad this little project has inspired you! Just throw time at the wall until something happens - it's all practice, and it all improves your skill! I'm writing music at 300% of where I was 6 months ago because I just keep repping it! You're never too old to learn

My only problem with making games right now is that I cannot make music... I'm an artist, and a writer, and a programmer; but I am by no stretch of the imagination a musician... if I could find someone to do the music for me, I might feel a bit more motivated!
So it's great that you're capable of doing everything!

You can't make music, I cant draw or paint.
It's a fez. I wear a fez now. Fezes are cool, just like bowties.

I can barely passably draw, and my programming ability is a shame to the term. I just brute force it until the game is playable - no other human being could make any modicum of sense of my code.
