Although I still see myself as a core Nintendo gamer, I have to accept that next year were going to go through some lean times. Plus I really like the idea of playing Arkham, Broken Sword 5, Disgaea, SF5, Last Guardian and FF7.

I would be surprised if FF7 or The Last Guardian released before 2018

Most likely. But if I buy it for Arkham, at least I have these games to look forward to in the future along with lots more. Sadly it looks like the end of the road for the Wii U at Xmas 2016, and they'll be very little after Xmas 2015.

Welp Sony and MS still didn't sale me on a system so the earliest I'll get one will be next year. I'll be upgrading my GPU this year though. Want to make sure I have tons of Vram for all those fallout mods I know I'm getting.

Im also getting a new GPU, coming from a 270x a GTX970 looks good but i will wait to see whats the price and performance of the R9 380X, early benchmarks put it ahead of the 980 which i doubt to be fair.

And SE is porting almost every of their games to PC also, so i woould nor be surprised if see (with a delay) Kindgom Hearts 3, im pretty sure 1 and 2 are in the works.

With Microsoft showing some promises with GoW and KI, i can see the future of PC gaming better than ever, maybe we could get Forza or Halo: MCC at some point, who knows...

Steam sales and REAL backward compatibility

I want to buy a PC instead of an Xbone (or a PS4 which I won't anyway) but I don't know how to do that. And I was a PC gamer in the 80's and 90's I'm just not sure where to buy one from, or if I can put one together myself.

I feel like none of the Big 3 really sold people on their consoles, this year felt like most of them were either checking boxes on their release Schedule (Xbox: Halo is coming, check. Gears is coming, check.; Nintendo: All these announced games from last years have release windows and 3DS has a fully release schedule now) or they were advertising the future of their console without focusing on the present (Sony with most of their show)

Hopefully next year we will see bigger presentations and more reasons to buy a certain console. I still prefer Nintendo's E3 presence the most the year.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Well, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 and the current GameStop trade in deal might have convinced my wife to buy a PS4 lol

Peek-a-boo

Now that E3 has come and gone, I am more convinced than ever that the Xbox One is not for me.

E3 2014:

Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Forza Horizon 2 and Gears of War 4.

E3 2015:

Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6 and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

Next year, I predict the following:

Halo 6: Electric Boogaloo, Forza Horizon 3 and (another) Gears of War spin-off.

On the other hand, the backward compatibility is great news - even if it isn't perfect - and the Rare Replay is brilliant, both in value and the quality of content. I just wish Microsoft dropped their yearly (or bi-annual) trio of Halo, Forza and Gears of War. That's why I stick with Nintendo and Sony; new IPs and a long slumber between their well known (and best selling) games.

I was also looking forward to seeing the new Tomb Raider that's partly exclusive on the Xbox One however, after seeing the live (jaw dropping) demonstration of Uncharted 4, I cannot bring myself to care about the former game anymore.

I personally didn't think the Nintendo Digital Event was THAT bad either, but it was certainly underwhelming compared to the holy trinity of Final Fantasy VII Remake, The Last Guardian (revival) and Shenmue 3 at the Sony conference.

Maybe - and hopefully! - the Nintendo NX will start its life with a bang though, what with the noticeable absent of both Metroid and Zelda for the Wii U at E3 this year. I hope Nintendo can put on a good show for both the fans and newcomers alike next time around.

This year has me ALMOST convinced that the Xbox One will be the second console of this generation I purchase. Obviously, that won't be for another three or four years, but when that time comes, I'm pretty sure I'll be going with Xbox One over Playstation 4.

Despite what I said a few posts I am now seriously considering getting an Xbox One. When looking at both the PS4 and Xbox One Youtube channels (I did not watch E3 live), I found the Xbox selection to be a little better and thus do not agree with your Xbox E3 summary. Sony's big games are still farther off too. I was not all that impressed with Uncharted 4 and this is coming from someone who enjoyed 1-3.

I was in no way trying to put anybody off their (future) choices in which console to choose from, only that I was expressing my views on how I see Microsoft playing their cards almost every single year, and in a way, I am kind of right, what with those trio of games cropping up at E3 on a yearly basis.

Like I said, the Rare Replay and backward compatibility is great and Microsoft seems to have got over its (terrible) TV, TV, TV as well as the 'always online' introduction that plagued the console in its first year. I think that gave them the much needed kick up the arse and to focus on what is the most important thing; games.

I cannot change your tune on your views with Uncharted 4, but I loved the first two only to feel slightly underwhelmed by Drake's third adventure.

The live demonstration of A Thief's End was showing so much going on during the shoot out (look at those sand bags!) and the surprisingly open-ended driving sequence that followed, that I immediately forgot about my disappointment of the third game and thus, started to look forward to what seems to be the last Uncharted game.

I do think the Xbox One has the edge in terms of exclusives this year, even though they are the same-old-same-old however, next year and beyond, I don't think I could miss out on Final Fantasy VII Remake, Horizon: Zero Dawn (new IP), The Last Guardian, RIME, Shenmue 3, Uncharted 4 along with all those indie games that the PlayStation 4 seems to have too.

I'm quite happy with the long slumber between games on the Wii U as well as a PlayStation 4 to keep it in good company.

Everybody makes different choices for their own reasons!

Helped me to decide to wait for NX . I'll get Xenoblade X and The Legend of Zelda the day I buy the NX, assuming it follows the path of Wii and Wii U and has backwards compatibility.

I was all set on the Xbone as my additional console next to the Nintendo ones... but started looking more and more deeply into PC gaming. It appears that for every console game out there, there are dozens of PC games.
I mean, just check out this list right here:
http://www.gamespot.com/forums/pc-mac-linux-society-1000004/b...

The PC genres include a lot of RTS, and point n click, and Diablo style RPG's , which I find more interesting and fun anyway. And I won't have to pay for online.

It really seems much more appealing to have a PC and Wii U (and 3DS and whatever else Nintendo brings) as a bundle than to have the PS4/Xbone clog the TV place. This combination is much better.

Now, initially I just wanted to Play Arkham Knight and it is appealing to go PS4 there because the PC version got screwed up, but I wouldn't have chosen PS4 for anything else, so it doesn't make sense, and they'll fix the PC version one day, and frankly, the whole overuse of the Batmobile and everything else about this game starting from the loss of the GamePad of course has put me off from this game, so I'm not going to be tempted to buy that one, that's $400-$500 down the drain that I would buy a monitor with and part of the PC.
