Topic: How does Nintendo do well in Japan?

Yeah so almost all of us here love Nintendo so much that we one day will make games exclusively for their products. But how does Japan treat Nintendo. Do they also love Nintendo like us?

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

1) They're a Japanese company. Of course they're gonna treat Japan better.
2) The Wii U's not doing well in Japan, and the main reason the 3DS is doing well is because it was released first and at a reasonable price, in a country where portables are a better investment than home consoles. And it has Monster Hunter. I wouldn't say Japan loves Nintendo so much as Nintendo knows how to time things right and get the right games that cater well to that market.

Japanese people play portables a lot more. Nintendo has managed to secure exclusive 3rd party deals like the dragon quest series and Monster Hunter which are games that people in Japan are nuts over. I feel like Nintendo's problem lies right there, they know what japan likes and what they want but they don't know what other countries like Europe or the US like or what they want.
I read an article (don't quote me on it because I'm too lazy to look it up or even argue about it) but apparently they consider Nintendo to be childish in japan too and they apparently have some name they use to describe Nintendo fanboys.

LOL. I was curious so I looked it up. Apparently they're either called pigs, or a Japanese pun which implies they worship Nintendo as God/Buddha.

I thought it was a term they used for nerds in general... I mean, pig...

Maybe, I know nothing about Japanese culture.

neither do I. but since I watch tons of anime I can pretend I know the Japanese culture really well.

I'm not sure. Is it still difficult to find Xbox fans in the region?
