In my hands...?

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

I think that is also how I played on the PS2 as well, but with the PS3 I mainly played shooters yet I still used four fingers and R2 to shoot. After finding it easier to use R1 to shoot faster I switched the controls (R1 to shoot instead of R2). With PS4 I think either works for me, but I still tend to use 4 fingers. Same thing for Pro controller, but I prefer 2 fingers instead.

As you mentioned earlier, I think that the Gamepad having ZL and ZR lower is the reason why I always just use 2 fingers for it.

I only use 2 fingers, if I could use 4 I would, but it just feels... weird. To be honest, I could probably adjust my brain and hands to use the 4 finger approach, but my hands just automatically go into the 2 fingers for the bumper approach.

As this is in Other Gaming... I wonder how people have their keyboards setup? I'm going the traditional WASD approach, but I know quite a few people will use different variations, for example "RDFG" as they have access to more buttons. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

For computer I will either leave it WASD or plug in a controller. For League I leave it default (QWER) as well but my buddy uses ASDF instead, he gets so confused when we talk about abilities but that is how he likes it... he is a little weird lol

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Generally I find this not true at all, maybe it's just an American Sony players thing.

Back in my MMORPG days, I used ESDF because it gives you access to more keys than WASD and it also feels more natural given that's where your hand naturally is on the keyboard. After I stopped playing them, I continued using ESDF for a little while but got sick of having to remap the keys for virtually every game I played so I switched back to WASD. I still prefer ESDF but not enough to bother remapping all the keys for nearly every game.

I'm a lot like you, I'd use ESDF, if it wasn't for the fact that I'd have to remap every single button for it to work. Still don't know how some people use RDFG though, quite close to being in the middle of the keyboard with that setup. Maybe one day I'll convert away from WASD, but until I can be bothered wasting time to remapping buttons it'll probably stay like that until the end of time.

it kinda depends on the controller and on the game. for example i hold the old xbox Duke controller different than the xbox360 controller. and depending on the game i have my fingers resting on the triggers or on the buttons above them.

I started out on the SNES, so using 4 fingers for the PS Controller's triggers just feels unnatural to me.
Also, I play Project M, so sometimes I claw (index finger) the Y button on the Gamecube controller for jumping. For some reason I've never "clawed" any other controller, not even with Monster Hunter on the PSP.

Maybe, I thought it was because of the design of the controllers and the games. (R1 being shoot which feels natural with an index finger meaning having your middle finger on R2 wouldn't be as weird) But I guess I am wrong.

It wouldn't be weird at all, but it can be uncomfortable to hold the middle fingers on the R2 buttons and at the same time hold the thumbs on the analog sticks.

I completely agree and that is why I don't do that. It is just all my friends that primarily play PlayStation use 4 fingers. It was horrible generalization on my part, it was just my personal experience from a narrow lens.

The Dualshock 2 is really uncomfortable for me to hold with my fingers on both the triggers while using the sticks. I usually just use my index for both triggers. Not much experience with the DS3, but the DS4 is very nice and I normally have my fingers on both triggers.
I normally put my fingers on both the triggers on the 360 Controller, and it's one of the most comfortable for me, right behind the GC controller.

Simple! I hold the device with which I control the actions of the character that I am currently using in an activity of amusement taking place in the digital realm firmly withen the grasp of my upper-body appendages!

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...
