Topic: How come SEGA doesn't get any recognition for their games?

Nintendo nearly wins awards for their games like how nearly every Zelda games gets the Interactive arts and science hall of fame and so do most companies.

But SEGA can never win any of those awards when they do make fantastic games. I'm shocked that Valkyria Chronicles hasn't won critical awards even though I didn't like the game that much. Heck, I'm surprised that when SEGA does win such awards, it comes from AM2 and not from SEGA themselves.

Well, because Zelda is a more consistently good series than anything in Sega's stable. More consistently good series than anything else in anyone's stable, you might argue.

VC was a damn fine game, but I don't think it's realistic to expect much mainstream recognition for it in western media.

Maybe Sonic deserves some recognition for cultural significance or whatever, but there's plenty of mascots that deserve it over him, several from Nintendo.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

@CaviarMeths: SEGA has Phantasy Star which is very innovative for its time.......and let's not forget that they have Skies of Arcadia........Shinobi........Shining Force..........Monkey Ball.......all of these are innovative and don't get the attention that Nintendo gets. I don't mind Nintendo winning awards seeing as how I love them but when people rant about SEGA VS Nintendo and seeing as how SEGA gets recognition only by their own magazines instead of Nintendo being known everywhere else, SEGA just seems underwhelming.

Again majority of third parties get accolades compared to SEGA. Symphony of the Night really didn't do much other than adding RPG elements in it. The rest of the game just plays like Super Metroid.

That would be like giving Nintendo an award for F Zero, a series they haven't touched in ages. You need new installments to keep relevance.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

Maybe because Sega's a freaking failure realising buggy and unintuitive rehashed Sonic games every year? Hmmm?

Well, some of their franchises haven't been around for a while, and quite a few of their recent endeavors haven't exactly been what one would qualify as "good".

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

@DarthNocturnal: Kid Icarus Uprising is praised despite the franchise being dormant and yet it doesn't win critical awards. What's your excuse?

@DarthNocturnal: What about Golden Sun? A new IP from Nintendo and its critical in first sight.

But Skies of Arcadia?

Likely because they no longer focus on their other franchises very much. even their good games they barely market....Virtua Fighter 5 and all its revisions...need I say more?
