Rumours sound like this is the result of conflicting egos between Hideo (and his studio's top guys) and Konami upper management. Perhaps Konami should just accept that Metal Gear is the best thing coming out of the company and they should put up with what ever ego Hideo has. He has earned the ego, they haven't.

What a mess. And people laughed when I said Konami is gonna go full Capcom soon...
In all honesty, I like Kojima as a creative dude, but not the games he worked on (except for Lunar Knights), and I expect him to go in a much more interesting way if Kojima Productions go indie.
If this is true, this could be very bad for Konami. Both the producer and the character designer of their extremely popular (in Japan) LovePlus series just jumped ship. Now the director of the only two series they're still pushing in the west goes?
...I can't even imagine Metal Gear without Kojima. It'd be like an awful version of Uncharted with nanomachines.
Only Konami's game division is in trouble. And it deserves it for wasting all their legendary IPs as well as Hudson's.
I won't care when they're gone. They became crap a while ago.

Hmmmm, this could be interesting, although, has nobody else considered that, as Konami bought Hudson Soft, this means that companies such as Nintendo or even Capcom will have the chance to buy Hudson IPs, because, in all honesty, that man is what kept Konami alive, aaaaaand, now if he's gone, well, hmmm, this sounds awwwfulllly familiar to a certain other big name who left Capcom and, look where they are now. So, uh, I get that people would be disappointed, but the potential for a new Bomberman/Bonk/Rocket Knight sort of negates that for me. Well, I can see Konami exiting video games if this continues, but Yu-Gi-Oh! still has potential to keep them afloat in terms of the card game.

At least Capcom still makes gams, with Kojima and his team leaving the only game will have is PES which no one cares about.

If this rumor is true, then I 100% agree with you. Metal Gear Solid has been their consistent cash cow for a while now. Almost everything else has been shelved, neglected, or ruined. Without Kojima behind those games anymore they'll probably lose a huge chunk of the fanbase (even if they're any good).

How about something even better than Bomberman/Bonk/Rocket Knight, a Mario Party game without car mechanics!
If that really is the case, then Konami just went from "Hey, is that game company that only does Metal Gear" to "Oh, is just that game company that only does Yu-Gi-Oh!".
Prediction time!!! Just like with Kamiya and Itagaki... Kojima will find himself working with Nintendo in some way. That's my guess unless Sony jumps at him. Silent Hills might die, too. Kojima and his team... Dang, I feel sorry for them.
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!
