Basically, this thread is about games you hate, but play anyway. Just put down the game/series and add your reason.
Mine is Call of Duty. I hate it oh so much, and yet I've gotta play. Reason being that it is the only FPS that has splitscreen currently on PS4, that I know of. Otherwise I'd play BF4, Killzone: Shadowfall, etc.
Now if this was bad games, I miiiight change my mind because there are a couple of games I know aren't actually good but I enjoy (Enter the Matrix) but if I hated a game, I wouldn't play it.
Certainly the OP means he hates the idea of Call of Duty or something like that. Surely he/she wouldn't actually play it if he/she hated every second of it.

I'll never understand why someone would put up with a game they genuinely dislike. :/
So they don't consider that their money has gone to waste.
While I don't hate animal crossing, I did play City Folk longer than I would have liked so that I could reach a point I could consider the game complete (Complete museum, perfect town, all house upgrades, all golden tools, all structures built, highest HRA) so that I could put it down and be satisfied that it was done.
There is always an exception to the rule. Generally I don't like racing games, but I enjoy Mario Kart and TNT Racers. That's also why I said "won't know for certain."
Okay if you're going to split hairs, well then NFS Underground was a racing game I enjoyed. But then if we were to split hairs Mario Kart is a Kart simulator. A lot of the fundamentals are the same, managing speed, avoiding obstacles, memorising track layout etc.
Pretty much every JRPG's last segment. I just feel the need to see the ending even if it's totally predictable. Usually I find the gameplay has gotten stale by the time the game is wrapping up though, so I don't do the bonus dungeons.
Also, a lot of MMO's get me with their sunk cost thing. I'll keep playing after I stop finding it fun just because I feel like I need to get my value's worth. Yeah, I know that's stupid and it's how MMO's nab players in the first place, but still
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
