Well, that's an interesting sight to see. Very little buzz for what should be the 360's biggest game of the year? Don't have a 360 so don't give a f- fladoodle......

You want to start hype for a generic space-themed FPS that's on the Xbox 360, so your first thought is to make a hype thread on Nintendolife? I'm sorry, that just seems...well, stupid, in my opinion.

Haha, I saw the commercials. For a combat game it was pretty boring footage. If I need "Combat Evolved", Ill play something a little more fast paced like Sin and Punishment or Space Invaders: The Original Game.
I do think the Halo series is the best First-Person Shooter series out there (Metroid Prime is what I call a First-Person Adventure game. Less Fighting more exploring) And from what I played in the beta this could very well be one of the greatest FPS games to date.

Dude, if you knew me, I don't have an Xbox 360, while I have enjoyed what I've played of the Halo series, it's just a really good FPS in my opinion, nothing more and nothing less, which means it can compare to any of Nintendo's best franchises; while it may be a "generic space-themed FPS," you can't deny it's going to sell millions; no I don't want to start hype for it, but I thought the "hype meter" glitch on IGN (Halo is at the top of the list so it's obvious that the buzz thing is wrong) was hilarious, grabbed a shot of it before they fixed it, and basically made a joke thread about it, but at least a couple people seem to be interested in it so I'll let it be legitimate if they want; this is the Other Gaming section of the Nintendo Life forums where, well, "other games" from Sony and Microsoft are discussed and hyped on a regular basis, and considering Halo is a giant among these games, to me at least this thread certainly doesn't seem out of place; and you're definitely entitled to your opinion so no need to apologize for it.

Like Odnetnin said it is an other gaming section. People post hype threads for a lot of 360/PS3 I couldn't care less about. Now about the game itself. If you actually played the game (or beta) you'll be able to see that there is enough going on to keep it from being generic. Different abilities, weapons, game modes, and maps keep the game from being generic. Name me one other FPS that lets you use a jetpack and pull of an assassination in mid-air. Also I really don't see many Space Themed FPS games around. In fact there are way more FPS, RPG hybrids around and all of those take place in a post-apocalyptic world and no one here complains about that. Finally, getting back to the generic thing, look at the Conduit and Goldeneye. You really can't find a FPS that is as bare-boned and generic as those.

IGN review http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/111/1117228p1.html Seems to be a hearty opponent on the greatest FPS of all time list. It seems the game and features have enough to keep it from being just a graphically enhanced Halo 3.

Are you going to sh*t in every thread in the other gaming section? I'm sorry, that just seems...well, stupid in my opinion.

THANK YOU! Geez some people just can't enjoy games for its gameplay. I thought we were over this. Play it before you judge it people.
I might get this, only thought Halo was okay in general, but this looks pretty awesome. Reminds me a bit of a slower and futuristic Halo version of TF2, but not really. TF2 still trumps all.

Finally, getting back to the generic thing, look at...Goldeneye. You really can't find a FPS that is as bare-boned and generic as those.
that's a stupid comparison; without Goldeneye, Halo [arguably] wouldn't even exist. That's like saying "look at Super Mario Bros....that's the most generic platformer you can find." The point is, Halo is still around; Goldeneye is not (well, I guess it's about to be around again in a few months). Sure, you can argue it set today's standards, but the point still stands. I'm not trying to bash Halo, because I've played it, and it's alright. Nothing special, but it's not bad. If I had a 360, I might look into Halo Reach, since it seems to be slightly less generic than its predecessors.

Then you can also say where would GoldenEye be without Doom and where would Doom be without Tempest. I was also talking about the new Wii one, not the 64 one.
