Apologies if there's a topic for this already. I went back through the last two months of posts and couldn't see one.
As of about 15 minutes ago, an embargo lifted allowing media to publish their hands on previews of GTA V. I'm holding out for Edge or Eurogamer, but just had a quick glance at the CVG one, and could feel myself getting the sort of excitement I had in the build up to Vice City and San Andreas.
I'm definitely keeping September free of any other games. The description of everything going on as they jump from the plane sounds fantastic. I'm glad there's plenty of the countryside elements included, despite only having the one city this time (as opposed to San Andreas). They offered a great contrast to the city.
=_= They're turning GTA into a shooter, apparently.
I'll be fine as long as they keep it a GTA game overall, though. I like that I can explore the entire map from the get-go. The diversity of environments looks nice. I'm not sure about the multiple protaganists, but I'm down with some honest experimentation. Really, though, I should be able to just wander off through the map and encounter a variety of bizarre and fascinating characters and situations.
Hopefully the game is as chock-full of dark humor as past games have been.
It sounds like I won't have to worry about an annoying cousin constantly calling my cell phone anymore. I love GTA4, but that got old really fast.
You got me excited for GTA 5 on Wii U also >_< well I hope that it does come to the Wii U but the last time GTA Chinatown Wars came to the DS it got good reviews (I also bought it and it was amazing highly recommend it) and it did not sell well, even after Cartman kept saying he wanted GTA Chinatown Wars on Nintendo DS handheld system in that one South Park episode. That's also when I started to wonder if people who play Nintendo consoles only want to play Nintendo games, but then again games like No More Heroes sold well and that game didn't have that much more advertisement than GTA on the DS.

i don't have the article on me but i do remember Rockstar say they were considering both a Wii U and PC version of GTAV, like many others i hope they do port it over to Wii U~!
Was just going to post this myself, it's amazingly good the footage was running on current gen console the PS3. Several years in the making it's almost here coming out on the 17.9.2013 PS3/Xbox360, no wonder there is an 8GB install it's massive. As for other versions R* has said thay have no plans at this time to bring it to PC, PS4, Xbox One, i guess this also means Wii U sadly.
I am totally going to reserve this game. After seeing that game play footage I have never wanted to play a GTA game so bad as I do GTA V. I love all the stuff you can do between missions and all the customization from your characters looks to what you can do with your money. September cant come soon enough for me.

We've got this big open-world experience that's 100 hours long, and that gives players control over what they do, what they see, and how they see it. A world where you can do everything from rob a bank to take a yoga lesson to watch TV, all in your own time. How do you condense that into a two-hour or 12-hour experience where you take away the main things: player agency and freedom?
There is no game franchise I loathe more than GTA. Not just because the game is not appealing in any manner, nor actually enjoyable to play, but because of what it has done to the industry. It has inspired myriads of clones and other games that are all about mature/ shock value antics teaching society how amazing it is to have no moral compass and to do what ever you want to get what you want. It's the reason I hate most of what has become "popular" gaming types in the last decade and the reason I support Nintendo so much. I know that there is mature content on WiiU and I even play some, depending on why the content is mature I just really hope Nintendo keeps making great games I love that I don't have to feel lower my moral standards or make things like drug dealing and prostition seem ok or normal. Drugs kill and ruin lives and society and we glorify it in games like this. It's not just playing games, no matter what people think, it desentises us to terrible things.. The only good thing to come from Nintendo ever leaving the industry is the $1000's of dollars I would save on games every year since there are so few games on Sony or MS that seem palpatable. Before I get tons of responses saying this, "Yes I know GTA was not the 1st last or only game like this". I just really think there popularity changed the industry as a whole, and sadly for me, negatively.

If your not 18 don't play it it is not the games fault that some peoples parents are irresponsible, also its a game. And i haven't seen anything in GTA that glorifys drug using, i suppose you don't like TV, flims, Books for the same reason. The game industry is not just for kiddies but adults also, that can distinguish a game from reality.
