I thought this would be a nice thread to promote some of those games that never had much publicity. I know there's more than the triple A games out there, so let's put them in the spotlight for awhile. Now there's no real rule to this thread other than trying to use your head and not put GTA4 or something in here. All consoles and PC included.

I'll start with a few games that I've played lately.
Shadowgrounds - Take the Doom 3 engine and makes it an top-down RPG arcade-shooter-style with a setting like ripped from Aliens(2).

Sigma Team Shooters - It's like Shadowgrounds but with less emphasis on story, and with more carnage. It includes, Zombie Shooter 1&2, Alien Shooter 1&2.

Sins of a Solar Empire - This game doesn't get the attention it deserves, it has everything that a fan of strategy game may want. Traditional 4X with a slower paced real time strategy. Imagine a mix between Homeworld and Master's of Orion. Best strategy game I've played next to StarCraft.

Any games you've played that you feel should be getting a bit more attention? If so, post it in here.

There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore

It's awesome, and only $10.

A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.

Shadowgrounds is pretty fun. Best of all GameTap lets you play the whole game for free.

Rogue Trooper is likely relatively unknown. The review makes it sound pretty good anyway. I haven't gotten it yet though.

A great Gamecube (PS2 and Xbox versions as well) game, then Metal Arms: Glitch in The System is an excellent hidden gem that didn't really get picked up. It really deserved a sequel, but that is probably never going to happen. May I suggest a classic review for this to get the word about how awesome this game is?

If it looks interesting, you can look up more yourselves.

Ah yeah, I always wanted that one as a kid, but forgot about it. It's available as a download on Xbox on Demand now, so anyone with a 360 and an interest in Third-person shooters has no excuse not to try it.

I bought a used PS2 copy, and I realized that the only thing holding this game back is the framerate. It looks so choppy when the battles get hectic!

Ravage

I don't remember that at all... Maybe it was just the PS2 version.

That's probably just a problem with the PS2. It was the least powerful of the systems back in those days, after all, and a lot of multi-console games were more designed to be used with the higher-end consoles than with the PS2.
