Amy is a game that most people would consider to be "not good," but it actually shares a lot with the likes of Clock Tower 3 - it's an attempt at a real survival horror with very little weapons, and very easy death.
I kinda liked it (3.5/5), but then I'm a horror fan.
Seconded on the Amnesia recommendation, and also Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth - an older game now, but still a very good horror game by Bethesda. Should be cheap on Steam.
I was thinking about getting the Silent Hill HD collection for the PS3...I really need to experience 2 & 3 especially.
Don't do it, it is a TERRIBLE port.

If you want to know how bad the Silent Hill HD ports are read the review and videos in the link. I bought the collection and have run across some serious lag and slowdown in both SH 2 and 3. Not to mention the lip synch does not match the voice over during certain parts of SH3. They also removed much off the fog giving the game a unpolished look. Some of the sound effects from the original game have vanished for no reason and James breathing sounds really weird when he runs. To be fair a patch will be released soon to address some of those issues, so that may make the collection tolerable, but I think the PS2 or Xbox versions are the way to go.

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

Thanks for the info. Look like I'll be avoiding the HD collection like the Steve Urcle plague. Now if i can just get myself to buy a PS2 off of eBay....I know i will eventually but i keep putting it off. Kind of sucks the big one that you can't play your PS1 & PS2 games on the PS3...Unless you got one of those earlier specific PS3 models, even then you're limmited.
PSOne disc games play find on any model of PS3. You can even stream PSOne games to your Vita/ PSP.
Or just download the game off the PSN.
Oh and in Europe we've got about 40 PS2 Classics now too. Not Silent Hill 2, mind you. Konami would rather you buy the HD remake travesty.
Silent Hill Shattered Memories is brilliant, with a great story. Resident Evil Revelations,is also pretty decent.

if your a fan of amnesia:dark desendent which is where you complete puzzels while avoiding a monster that tries to kill you and you can fight back, there is penumbra black plague, penumbra overture, and the new sequal to amnesia which is called amnesia:a machine for pigs
I heard Amnesia is really scary it's on the PC. People said Fatal Frame 2 was one of the scariest games around but I never got to play the original one.
EDIT: Also Lone Survivor it's a 2D, sidescrolling, 16 bit horror game on steam if I remember correctly.
Fire is more fun with friends, kids!
