Topic: Gamestop has this great deal .......

on trading in an original Xbox 360 for the new slim. I took a POS E74, RROD to Gamestop expecting to get around $15 dollars, but instead I got $80 just because I said that I was gonna use the credit to get the Slim. So I figured that I would share this tidbit of information just incase anyone else has an old 360 laying around not working

He probably got lucky they didn't turn it on and jack it into a tv. That or Gamestop doesn't care as they have some program to pay people $80 and still get something from the system to make a profit out of it.

Sweet. I want to get a Slim, and my old 360 (currently am using a spare borrowed from a friends) if somewhat "iffy" (not RROD'd, but frequent disc-read failures). I'll probably give this a shot soon.

BTW, does anyone know if the Slim includes a Transfer Cable (to transfer your old hard drive contents)? If not i'll have to see if a friend has one before i grab a Slim.

I don't think it's included with the Xbox 360S (Slim). The cable is selling for $20 at online retailers though. Or just get a PS3 instead if you don't have one already.

I still may my head in the PS3 thread just as infrequently though, as I know a few people with PS3s, so I'll likely still be playing every now and again.

The ring has only been replaced by a flashing red dot. It can still brick on you except you get a nice red dot of death instead of the red ring, lol.

A good percent of RROD`d consoles can be repaired.
