The Dark Spire for DS.
It's not that it's bad, it just that it's a 30-year-old game that came out 25 years too late for most people.
I checked, and Critics didn't seem to hate this game, it just wasn't well-advertised. Like, it was Demon's Souls before Demon's Souls - it sold terribly at first, then the price dropped, a few people started picking it up because it was cheap, realized it was good and spread the word. Unlike Demon's Souls, it got rare and then the prices shot up, which caused fewer people to buy it, so interest faded before Atlus could get out more copies. Retro Game Challenge went through the same thing, too, btw.

That's not it. If you're the kind of person who'd go back and play Ultima on the PC, you'd love it. If you can't stand a game that doesn't tell you anything (even weapon stats), if you don't know what AC is and why putting on armor makes it go down, if you can't deal with anything remotely unbalanced: you will hate it.
You either love it or hate it. It doesn't do anything new at all. Nothing. It's from a lost era, where the last 20 years of game design suddenly went out the window.
It's rated about the same or less than RE6, The Conduit, Code of Princess, and like half the other games people are mentioning.
Reviews are very mixed, and I can't really fault them.
Resi 5 was definitely enjoyable. It's still most likely my least favorite Resident Evil game (though I still haven't played Resi 3 yet), but I liked it a lot, especially when I had somebody to play with that I knew well.
RE 5 is still one of the worst games I ever played. Especially the ending is probably in my top 1 worst videogame endings ever.
That being said critics didn't hate the game. It clearly outscored Revelations and a lot of other non-numbered RE titles.
Because of all the silly absurd remarks about the game being racist, Capcom chose to make the majini's a blend of Asians, Mexicans, Europeans and Africans....insted of them all being African...doesn't make sense considering the game takes place in Africa. RE4 took place in Europe, with the genandos all being caucasian and nobody made a whimper....
It's not difficult to imagine why a game that appears (from the initial trailer) to be about some buff white dude mowing down hordes of crazed black people in an African village would inspire some kneejerk reactions.
Obviously the game is not racist, but it did make a pretty bad first impression.
Most recently, Mario Party 10. I can honestly say the same about every Mario Party I think though. Reviews aren't great but I've always enjoyed the series since the original, even with the changes.
