Topic: Gameplay vs. Graphics

In this i want to know from people what they think is more important to video games. the graphics or the gameplay.
See, I hate my brother for saying a game with bad graphics (even nes, snes and n64) is a bad game even if the gameplay is good. I mean, he thinks that only games with brand new super realistic graphics are good, not looking at amazing classics like ocarina of time or super mario world for example. Whenever i am playing a retro game, he goes ''Why don't you play a good game?!'' It's so dumb and stupid!!! So anyways, what do you think guys? Are the graphics really everything about a game or is it the gameplay that makes a game good? (you may also comment with just ''gameplay'' or ''graphics'')

No offense, but how many times do we need to rehash this argument? here's a recent one that boiled down to the same point, another with someone else attempting to start the war but going about it the wrong way, one that turned into a fairly mature-looking discussion (a rarity when discussing this particular topic around here), and finally, here's a classic tailchaser to cap it all off.
