The above is a picture of a CG mock-up of Gaijin Games' potential video game-biography, Laserlife. It's impossible to accurately explain, so you'll have to follow the link at the bottom to a video of the game to understand what this new experimental game brings to the table. I'm a little bit skeptical myself, but Gaijin Games has thus far done no wrong and, who knows, maybe they can make a compelling experience out of this.

That was insightful and enjoyable. There have been other games like that which explore more subtle, calm situations and forms of play than running and shooting. The ideas he discussed are interesting, though I do wonder if it would be possible to get the concept across with what seems like quite a disjointed form of expression, I suppose the indirectness is part of the experience though. The gameplay and interface ideas are pretty solid, but I think you're right Odnetnin - it would have to be something more than guiding taffy strings to create a compelling play experience.

The concept in itself is compelling though, it's just that it may not be obvious enough to appeal to a lot of players. I think the idea of a biography game is pretty interesting, although in the format they suggest it might be a little too unwieldy for most users. "Whaaaaaat?" lol

What's shown is not actually a game though (the video was just that - a video) and, as he said, it may never come to fruition because they have many other ideas on the table.

That was a great presentation.

That was pretty interesting. Alex is an awesome public speaker. Hopefully the game does see the light of day in some form, definitely sounds great.

Check out my classy comics.
