color me impressed
since i don't have a phone i'll be getting one of these (hope sprint has one) and still getting a ipod touch for everything else.

My only gripes about the phoine has to be the no copy and paste or HTML5. A

also every phone must have these minimum requirements.

Capacitive, 4-point multitouch screen
ARM v7 "Cortex/Scorpion" or better processor
DirectX9 rendering-capable GPU
256MB of RAM with at least 8GB of Flash memory
Accelerometer with compass, light, proximity sensor and Assisted GPS
5-megapixel camera or better with flash
FM radio tuner
6 dedicated hardware buttons - back, Start, search, camera, power/sleep and Volume Up and Down.

Well, it looks better than dsiware, but i dont guess that's saying much. Still, no D pad or buttons is a big turnoff, anyone who plays a game with fake on screen D pad and a and b buttons should agree.

This is news that I've been watching with great interest for a couple of months now. I was all set to upgrade my current cell phone to an Android 2.2-compatible phone but this has put the brakes on that.

I'm looking more forward to this than I am to the 3DS (and that's saying a lot!).

edit: I would love to be able to play some of the currently-downloaded-to-my-xbox360-XBLA games on this OS, but I'm not sure if the phone hardware will meet the requirements to play all of them. Portable Shadow Complex would be groovy.

edit2: here's more info: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/phone/default.htm

I agree portable shadow complex would be awesome. I see a few XBLA games that could easily make the transtion.

Still going to use itunes for my music and zune for my TV and movies though.

Bleh, looks too much like iPhone gaming. Ill stick to my iPod Touch if I want to play shallow 5 second games. The OS doesnt look as good as Android in my opinion, so Ill stick to my Evo 4G.

No DPad and touch screen sucks as I have one the Hero. Games on phones suck, they are limited by the phones themselves. Its cool to see that Live can be implemented into the phones, but without a proper controller Im uninterested in swapping my incredible phone service I already have.

Yes. In fact, that is the sole purpose of my phone. I don't care about any of that other crap.
