I downloaded this free game (Trackmania Nations Forever) a few weeks ago and I like it sooooooooooo much! Have any of you tried it? It's FREE! In the game you race cars through tracks and try to get the best time on that track. This has online racing too! Also, there is also a level editor that lets you make your own track and race on it! If you don't have it I totally recommend downloading it! I mean, why not try it? The only thing that I don't like is the in-game advertising. It took a little while to download, but it is worth it! What do you think?
Here's a screenshot:
You can download different mods for the game at TM Mod
EDIT: I bought TrackMania United Forever on eBay for 20 bucks----so much better than Nations! It has new environments to race in--6 new, plus the Stadium. It also has online rankings and downloadable ghosts for tracks. The Island is my favorite environment! My car is a Ford Shelby GT500KR with a TrackMania Carpark skin.
I've been playing it for years (since nations eswc) and have lost weeks of my life to that game, I love it! The handling is amazing, the ranking is fun, and the community is one of the most creative out there.
@irks: it's mentioned in the third post down in that thread already, lol. :3

[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
@Xkhaoz: Eeek, there might be an error in the file. Re-download the setup exe, then try again. If that doesn't work, then I don't know what to suggest. :/
Downloaded and played for about an hour and half last night and enjoyed the feakin heck out of it, bout to eat and play some more. I cant believe how great this game is to be free. I would easily pay $30-$40 bucks for it. Gladly. It really impressive. Ive downloaded it now on my laptop so I can play in bed at night, but I will download on my Desktop so I can run the highest graphics levels and all. My name is crossed23 if anybody want to race, Im down. Though Im not sure on how to do friends list or anything on there yet.

I'll send you an invite tomorrow dude. Bit of advice, do as much as you can of the single player before heading online, prep yourself for all the nasty bits of track the game throws at you.
@X: Yikes, I don't know dude. :/ Head to the TMNF site for some faq's. Good luck!
@Machu..... yeah Ive been playing Single Player only, and will prob stay that way for a couple more days until my skills increase, though I have netted a few Gold Medals, I think like 8 or so. Fun, Fun Game. And so didn't need another game to get hooked on But what the hey its freakin free and Im still brushing up my Soul Calibur Skills some too.

I just tried it last night, funny that. I deleted it though as there was no point in keeping something i wasn't going to play. The single player was good, but online was different. It has one of the worst server browsers I've ever seen. I couldn't even find a server with a ping below 200 and one of the "reccomended" servers was in afghanistan...That's nowhere near me...
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
Note: lag does affect you in TrackMania. If you crash into something, it's the track, not your the opponents. You could play on 500 ping servers, if you wish, and you can still win.
