Just to let you all know that Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics are now free till December 14th on GoG.com Not sure if there is any truth about this but according to GoG.com the Fallout name is changing hands so GoG might not be able to have the games for sale on their site much longer. So if you have ever enjoyed the series or like me have only played the 3 one or New Vegas you might want to grab these while you can.

I got Fallout 1 for free a while back, and I've got to say, it's pretty difficult. Kind of like XCOM: UFO Defense, you can pepper the landscape with a machine gun volley, but you won't neccesarily hit your target, and one mistake can cost you your life.
Is Fallout 2 similar in that regard? I'm keen to play it because I heard it has various improvements on the original, but if I'm being honest, Fallout 1 was a bit too hardcore for me. And damn, that time limit!
If you guys can't get through just keep trying that's what I did. All you have to do is put them in your cart and checkout thats it. Once you do that all they will be yours forever. You don't even have to install them right away.
@Gioku: All you have to do is create an account with them and that's it. Then just look for Fallout, Fallout 2 and Tactics and "purchase" them.

I liked Fallout 1's gameplay more, but Fallout 2's gameplay is different, yes. Easier, too. But have you tried turning down the difficulty in Fallout 1?

I'd say Fallout 2's gameplay is pretty similar, personally. Although the expanded content (more perks, more levels, more items, and much better followers) and lack of time limit definitely made the game easier, it's still obviously the same system; I'd be wary recommending it to someone who found the first too hardcore.
That said, I found the first quite manageable. Fast shot trait with melee might have been a bit of an exploit, though (they were incompatible in fallout 2).

The installers are now downloading for me!
...on my school's really slow wi-fi, lol. Says I got 57 minutes left! haha, luckily I'm still at school and thus am preoccupied, so that makes waiting easier!
