It's well known that Final Fantasy is one of the biggest series in the world. And everyone says that FF7 was the best. What was your personal favorite of the series, and do you think that Square Enix should at least put a Final Fantasy game on Wii or DS (and no I don't count the Crystal Chronicles, I mean the original series.) I've personally played FF7, and didn't like it all that much, but I loved FF9. It was just great. I'm planning on finding FF6, or hoping that they remake it for the DS, like they did FF4.
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.
That'll never happen, unless they start doing remakes on the Wii(which would be awesome!). S-E loves they're purdy graphics, and the series has gained its reputation as a standards setter, so them having to put an FF game on the weakest console this generation would be unthinkable.
Of course I'm always for more games even if they're not part of my favorite genre. The more the merrier. Personally I'd like more experimental Crystal Bearers fare. If Square Enix doesn't want to bring any numbered FF releases to Wii it's not really a problem for me. I rather see more innovation come from the "console with the controller" as opposed to simple turn-based stuff anyway. That said if anyone is burned about the lack of Final Fantasy. We're still getting Arc Rise Fantasia, Tales of Graces, Xenoblade, Dragon Quest X (I think), and The Last Story (which may or may not be traditional).

There's enough Square-Enix love on Nintendo's consoles. The Crystal Bearers games are even more loved than the original series by many of the people who own Wiis (I don't understand why, but them's the breaks), and then the Wii and DS has some simply awesome spinoff series - such as the Chocobo games.
Not to mention the remakes, and the DS did get Dragon Warrior.
When it comes to the core Final Fantasy series, though, I wouldn't want it on Wii. I want it on the most powerful system available at the time. Part of the charm of Final Fantasy is that it has always looked incredible for the technology available at the time. FFXIII looks gorgeous, and that simply isn't possible on the Wii.
First here are my favorite FF games in order of like more to like less: FF VI FF XII FF X FF V FF VII FF IV
All the FF XII haters are just that, haters. That game is amazing. VI is still the best but only for the story. XII is just breathtaking.
I wouldn't mind a remake of VI or V on the Wii, but as for a new FF no thanks. They would just dumb it down and make it suck. I am ok with S-E putting them out on Playstation's. (The new ones that is.)
All in all, it's the best video game series out there. I will continue to play the games when they come out no matter what system they are on.

But don't forget taht they techincally made a sequel to FF4 on wiiware

Personally, I think VII is great in the minds of people who were around when it came out because, with its flaws, it was truly revolutionary at the time. That's why it was one of my favorites. We just hadn't seen anything like that, on that scale at the time. That's just fact. Mario 64 wasn't the greatest mario game of all time but you can't deny that it was a game changer...FF VII was a game changer.
I also don't see the hate for XII. I loved it. I think the gamers that don't like it A. can't understand the gambit system and B. are resistant to change anyways. If you love rpg's that have zero to no change or innovation then go play an Atlus game.
