Hi. I'm pretty new here so bear with me.
I was wondering about your feelings about online gaming in general. Just multiplayer gaming. (i.e Xbox Live)
Do you absolutely despised it or are you completly fine with it.
My two cents is that it is a great addition, but does not automatically make the game good.

I love online gaming. Games like Gears of War 2 and COD: 4 (already great games) are given months of replay with it. It doesn't need to shoehorned into every title, though.

Love online gaming but have only done it with Wii. I like fighting "people" sometimes rather than the CPU.

Any game that support mutiplayer should have online, it's an excellent feature and gamers can't live without it.

I like online, but i also believe offline multiplayer or local multiplayer as some call it is just as important (for all those times you have guests/friends over

Not every game that has multiplayer should be online.NSMB Wii is not online and I love it that way because it feels like an old-school Mario that way. Sonic games are multiplayer and i don't want them online. Not many games come to mind but not all games with multiplayer should have online because well it just ruins it.
Online isn't everything though its a big factor in this generation just along with HD graphics and motion controls. Online is the caramel on my Hot Fudge sundae. It's nice to have but isn't required to enjoy the game.
Just for you.

Online is good, but gets boring much quicker than local. I couldn't imagine all of my brawl matches with friends being online. Although I could due without the hoarse voice from laughing so much.

Just because a game like NSMB Wii would probably be better offline doesn't mean the developer should not go the extra mile and include both. Mario Kart is most enjoyable in person, and yet the past two MK's have been online to great success. If Nintendo would ever support Wii Speak, it'd be significantly closer to the local experience, too. Of course, I can't connect my consoles online right now, so what do I care?

I was playing unreal tournament this morning and i was placing second every time. Times like those, make online gaming worth it. It's nice for a loner like myself. Alas, a billion random players can never amount to one real friend though. All in all I love online gaming, mostly for shooters, but throw me an RPG online and I'll love it as well.

@OdnyI moved. I have a connection now that requires authentication, and since there are no authentication options on my consoles that I see, I can't get them on. I ordered this USB device that plugs into a computer and piggybacks on its connection to create a wireless network. I doubt it'll be a strong connection, if it works at all, but it's worth a shot, and I'll at least be able to download games from it, probably.

I like online, but nothing beats a good single-player experience.

I thought that it was weird you couldn't connect your wii to a secured network, since I can connect my DSi to them. I found this online...you probably already did a quick google search, but this might be helpful if you didn't try:

It's a wired network, actually. Forgot to mention that. My Wii and DSi are helpless at the moment until I get that USB dongle (best word ever). The authentication comment was really only for my PS3, which fortunately has an ethernet connection but unfortunately can't authenticate as far as I can tell. Thanks though!

In my SSBB, when I choose Basic Brawl, about maybe 9/10 times it disconnects. But when I select Team Battle, it is connected about 9/10. So now I only do Team Battle.
