my favourites:
nintendo- with franchises such as zelda, metroid, super mario, kirby, smash bros to less known titles such as fire emblem, mother, f-zero, they're the company of which most of my favourite games series are from. would be great if they released new IPs, especially for the wii U.
SEGA- lots of people tend to dislike SEGA a lot, but i for one am still a fan of their games to this day. i still prefer the SEGA of the late 80s, 90s, the genesis/megadrive era. my favourite franchises include sonic, streets of rage, virtua fighter, jet grind radio.
namco- i like tekken, soulcalibur, ridge racer, as well as the classic pacman. they also made and released the arcade game time crisis, which is very much like SEGA'S virtua cop. to me, they're not bad.
my least favourites
capcom: capcom in the 90s were a great company- they had streetfighter, megaman, final fight, resident evil, viewtiful joe, captain commando, darkstalkers, rival schools, strider to name. i don't like capcom that much today- they're not terrible. i just miss the old capcom. and i do think they put way too much emphasis on streetfighter. creatively, there are good sometimes and where they fail is when they don't develop new franchises. i read the way they treat their (ex) employees is disgraceful though.
and let's not forget when they cancelled megaman legends for the 3DS, after months of promising fans it'll arrive on the system. they mislead a lot of them, which is not good at all.
SNK Playmore- like capcom, i used to be a fan of their titles. but nowadays, in terms of new games, they just keep releasing versions of king of fighters every 2, 3 years or so. i'd rather they came up with new I.Ps or new fatal fury, ikari warriors games. even namco who make soulcalibur and tekken and SEGA with virtua fighter release games that are not just fighting games. i don't recall SNK releasing an original I.P in the last 10, 15 yrs since king of fighters.
Tecmo/Team Ninja- i've never been a huge admirer of ninja gaiden, dead or alive. they also developed metroid: other M which drew dozens of mixed reactions. it was a game i thought was good, but could've been better if it had been developed by a different developer other than team ninja.
