I'm completely inexperienced in FPS's (mostly because I don't enjoy playing them) which will be shamefully evident by my choices: RE4 Fallout3 Gears of War
Man, I loved Deus Ex. Even though I played the dumbed down console port (oh, for the days when the P.C had an advantage over consoles )and not the P.C version it was still great.

Recently game developers are paying less attention to the PC, because games don't sell as much as the consoles on it.
As a direct result of the above point, Multiplatform games are usually released on consoles before PC.
If you want play some specific genres, such as JRPG and arcade/platformers, consoles is the choice.
Although in my opinion the pros outweigh the cons because: 1) the 360 and PS3 are not that cheap either 2) Even though consoles are getting more games, there are still developers that make PC games frequently, and there's enough games to keep anyone occuppied forever 3) just like there aren't that many JRPGs on the PC, Strategy games are still a PC thing.
Positive -Graphics are far superior -Online gaming is superior -Steam, D2D, and other download clients make it easier to purchase games -Controls are better (In my opinion) -Cheaper games -Mods (Biggest pro, if you ask me)

Hm....... Call of Duty 2, or Republic Commando......... I say Republic Commando.
Okay, I change my mind..... Sorta. Star Wars: Republic Commando is my favorite single player FPS. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is my favorite online shooter.
