We're talking anything from Direct2Drive, Steam, Crocus, Impulse, Windows Marketplace, etc. on the PC, along with Console services such as Wii or DSi Shop Channels, PS Store, or Xbox Marketplace.
For me, it would be Steam, followed by Xbox Marketplace.
Steam is far and away the best on the PC. I've used many others, but none are as user-friendly and offer as much content as Steam does, and of course, lets not forget about the absurd amount of sales. Seriously, I honestly wonder how much money they're actually making, since they practically give stuff away on a daily basis. Top it off with friends, easy download and installation, and achievements, and you have what is easily the best distribution service on the PC.
Xbox Marketplace is my favorite on consoles. While it isn't as slick or easy to navigate as the Wii Shop channel, it does offer User ratings for every game, and demoes for every XBLA and XNA game. I'm sure there's other stuff I could add, but I'm pooped.
It would have to be Steam for me too. I've easily spent the most on Steam compared to anything else. To think I used to be a Steam hater back in the early days...
Steam is good, but GOG beats Steam on all accounts. No DRM, no usage restrictions, no tethering to a service, no annoying online validity checks, loads of extras, low prices (only $5.99 and $9.99), excellent community, regular releases, sales every weekend, excellent catalogue of respected games, equal prices across all countries... I really can't ask for more.

Oh yeah, I was a member on GOG for like, a day before I lost my password and never bothered to get a new one.

Steam FTW. Great interface and amount of games to make any other DDS (Digital Distribution Service) look small and wimpy in comparison.

Steam for sure, there's not even a contest. Unbeatable deals each week and a huge library of games, personally I got like 80 games on there so far and most gotten at like 50% or more off.
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
Conspiracy theories asside, I have no problem with DRMs so long as it doesn't affect a normal law-abiding citizen. But this one sounds kinda lame - why do you have to be logged in to Windows Live to play? I mean, c'mon, who hasn't had their connection drop every once in a while? Does Windows Live have an Offline mode the way Steam does?
The only other option is allow piracy to increase & let the rampant piracy be the cause of the next videogame crash.
I don't know about you, but I would rather not buy the game and not have to worry about my connection dropping, their servers crashing, etc. and loose all my progress up to the last time I saved. If anything, this type of thing hurts PC gaming.
