Would it be better to buy a slim or super slim off craigslist? Would my 1 TB hard drive full of games fit into either?

I prefer the slim model. It's sturdier.

Any 2.5" 9mm HDD will fit (Samsung has a 2TB drive hitting the market next quarter), but I think you're going to need a system transfer in order for it to work. That will be tricky if your fat PS3 is completely dead. May have to contact Sony about that.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

You should of put it on a diet.

If you put the hard drive right into another PS3, it will format. You're saves will be gone and your games will need to be redownloaded.

Did it yellow light? Or just randomly die?

You should have put it on a treadmill and only given it fat free food.

It was accidentally dropped by my favorite niece down a flight of wooden stairs.

Unfavorite her immediately. That'll teach her not to drop your overweight systems

I have the slim model and I enjoy it. I think the slim is a better made machine than the super slim. When I was in high school, one of my friends had a super slim model and I remember playing it at a party, and it just looked and felt cheaper.

If you put your hard drive into a new machine, it will format it. You'll lose any and all of your save data because of this.

Based on the story, I can only assume that his niece was carrying it and accidentally dropped it down a flight of wooden stairs.

I read his post, idiot, but that still doesn't explain why his niece would be carrying it.

She was probably carrying the PS3 because she lacks the ability to levitate the system with her mind

Wow. Even if she COULD levitate the PS3, that still doesn't explain why she was moving it around. We could also ask how she dropped it accidentally.

It's a 3 year old and yet you are nitpicking.

It could be like "Uncle, if it only does everything, it can fly right?" and then "baaam!".

Or, there is other option I guess...

He could do it and then blame his niece. Perfect plan.
