Because EA doesn't seem to learn from their mistakes?
If they didn't they would be filing for bankruptcy right about now.
Don't get me wrong, they've made lots of mistakes. SimCity fiasco, Battlefield 4 not working; pretty recent things.
But you have to keep in mind, those things (especially the Battlefield 4 situation) negatively effected sales potential of both of those games. And with Battlefield 4, they also had to spend a ton of money constantly fixing servers. I doubt any company would like that. Heck, you can see the change in how Titanfall launched without any problems in its netcode, at least to my recollection.
And who knows? Maybe Mirror's Edge 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront 3 will actually be really good?

Titanfall's netcode was because of Microsoft. Otherwise they've been pretty consistant, and I feel bad for anyone who consistantly supports them day one.
...oh wait, I don't feel bad. What's the opposite of that?
Titanfall has pretty good netcode. The probelm is that no one's playing most of the game modes.
Also they can't be that big of mistakes with a broken game selling one million and they're DLC bundle also the same as the game selling more than a million as well.
For all the hate EA gets they do make some really good games.

EA doesn't care about it's craft enough to warrant my money, or anyone's for that matter. The fact they're willing to release broken games, hold back part of their games for extra profit, go to extreme DRM measures to make sure you don't try to pirate the game (which you shouldn't and if you do, feel bad), or flat out lie (cough cough "Next gen" Madden cough cough) about their games to get your money should be enough evidence of why.
EA (this goes for all companies), does not need to be hated. It doesn't mean a thing if you, your friends, or someone on the internet hates something. Hate does not send a message, effort does.
But, seriously, why do you even bother? EA is a business, not your playground, not your pride. Video games are solely for entertainment and EA has made unique business decisions to garner more money in the last few years. It's what businesses do.
Micro transactions, on-disc DLC, and always online video games (Sim City. The company learned always online is, if anything, a thing of the future), are three examples of a company moving forward. It's healthy for the industry to do this. EA is gigantic, so financially it can do this unlike Capcom. Though, it still benefits Capcom, Ubisoft, Sony, and Nintendo because now those companies can take notes on whether or not to adapt those ideas.
This 'EA is stupid, evil' crap needs to stop and the people behind this hate need to grow up.

So at the end of the day it doesn't matter what companies do as long as the actions taken lead to profit? Consumers shouldn't care whether they're being treated with dignity or whether a certain business practice is unethical?
That seems a bit silly to me.
Also, always-online requirements won't be a thing of the future. They add nothing to a game, they limit a title's market, and it heavily inconveniences those who are within the limited audience. Making a game always-online is a zero-sum decision.
EDIT: Also, don't reiterate the, "Always-online would stop piracy!" argument. There has never been a game in history that has gone un-pirated and a decent amount of third-party studies on video game piracy contradict the massive amount of game piracy that the ESA reports.

Trust me, any hate EA's gotten is completely justified. COMPLETELY justified.
Why would anyone go out of their way to 'hate' a company that has no impact on their life whatsoever?
Well, if you ignore that microstranstions are crappy, on disc DLC is crappy, launch day games not working being crappy, gimped ports like Madden and FIFA 13 on Wii U, or saying we need to buy a year old game and all their future Wii U support depends on that, then ya, I guess it's ok.
EDIT: Oh ya, and then people on the internet tell Nintendo fans to buy gimped games from them, otherwise they are fanboys, which is pretty annoying.

You're not comprehending any point I'm presenting.
It does matter what EA does at the end of the day. To EA. It's a company out there trying to make money (I hope this didn't surprise you), and it'll make ethical, creative decisions to make sure that happens. What's so 'unethical' about micro transactions again?

Just like how it overworks its employees to rush buggy games out the door. That was certainly "ethical". Or releases a game with a rabid fanbase only to butcher it in front of them as a free-to-pay scam. That was certainly a very "creative" decision on their part.

Overworking employees to rush games is nothing new for the industry its called crunch time. Also from what i hear the japnease side of the indusrty is pretty terrible in that regard.

Uh, I think this @Chrono_Cross user is not understanding what it means that EA is not a good company, even if they are making money, they don't understand the concept of good games make more money from time to time. Instead, they make money by making it expensive for meh or bad games. We should ignore him for now.
The Megaman Battle Network series is underrated... I think, don't quote me on this.
