I'm a fan of Dragon Quest franchise and I'm aware of the anime adaptations of this universe, Dai no daibĂ´ken being the most famous one -and not based in any game-, but sometimes when I search things in wikis I see pictures that seem to come from animes that don't really exist.
Can somebody please help me find the origin of things like this?
@Meowpheel That's what I thought at first, but it doesn't add up. I'm not talking about instruction booklet or cover art or about manga style art, which could be just promotional stuff. They're captures of what it seems to be animated material. For example with Dragon Quest V, which doesn't have an adapted series.
Look, guys, that's what I was meaning. I found several pictures of Dragon Quest V (not only, but especially) that seem anime screenshots, but this game doesn't have any anime adaptation whatsoever.
@ReaderRagfish The problem is Toriyama draws pictures in his style and they appear in illustration books and stuff, but these images are clearly from a TV product, and as much as they try to copy Toriyama's style we can tell the difference. Sure, they must have been done by Toei Animation's crew, because they resemble Dragon Ball's anime. A lot.
It can't be pictures from the SNES version of DQV's manual. I doubt it, anyway. That's weird.
It's clearly on the list, so it's just "official art" - either from promo material, guide books, or just concept art that was included in one of the various art books.
