Topic: Dragon Quest anime-like pictures?

I'm a fan of Dragon Quest franchise and I'm aware of the anime adaptations of this universe, Dai no daibĂ´ken being the most famous one -and not based in any game-, but sometimes when I search things in wikis I see pictures that seem to come from animes that don't really exist.

Can somebody please help me find the origin of things like this?

Chances are it's just art made for the games.

When everything in your game looks like it came out of a Dragon Ball, it's not hard to end up with art that looks like it came from an anime.

@Meowpheel That's what I thought at first, but it doesn't add up. I'm not talking about instruction booklet or cover art or about manga style art, which could be just promotional stuff. They're captures of what it seems to be animated material. For example with Dragon Quest V, which doesn't have an adapted series.

Look, guys, that's what I was meaning. I found several pictures of Dragon Quest V (not only, but especially) that seem anime screenshots, but this game doesn't have any anime adaptation whatsoever.

What the heck is this?

@ReaderRagfish The problem is Toriyama draws pictures in his style and they appear in illustration books and stuff, but these images are clearly from a TV product, and as much as they try to copy Toriyama's style we can tell the difference. Sure, they must have been done by Toei Animation's crew, because they resemble Dragon Ball's anime. A lot.

It can't be pictures from the SNES version of DQV's manual. I doubt it, anyway. That's weird.

@ReaderRagfish Right?

I even considered they could come out of some commercial, given the importance of every Dragon Quest release.
