I know there is little on the horizon for this series right now, but Lords of Shadow might be something to look out for with supposedly rebooting things all over again. First, I think that is a good idea, as the story has become so tangled and convoluted that it's hard to follow it at all. Should they keep using the Metroid-style exploration, as well, or should it be more of a straightforward action game like the NES titles? And should someone besides Iga handle it?

Story? What story? Oh, yeah! "Dracula has risen. Go kill him again... and again.... and again..." Typically I pay relatively little mind to the actual stories in the games as they're really more fluff than anything else.

I'm definitely interested in seeing how Lords of Shadow will turn out. So far I've only had my hand at the 2D titles. As long as the game itself is good I don't care so much about whether it's straight-out action or Metroidvania, although I have grown fond of the latter.

I personally prefer the straightfoward style myself because im not a fan of back tracking the Metroidvania is good too I just prefer it more straightfoward. There isn't much story besides Dawn of Sorrow. (Out of the ones I played.) Its mostly just Dracula returns in most titles.

If you've ever read interviews or the like with Koji Igarashi, the person mostly in charge of the series as-is, he places importance on the chronology of the series and the scenarios. Which is a bit ridiculous, since the original intent with the games up until SotN was to just give us an excuse to whup Drac's pale behind again. LoS should turn out good if they do it right; the 3D Castlevanias on PS2 were mediocre, and Castlevania 64 was abysmal. The reason I think it's a good idea to clear out the story clutter is because Iga basically forced himself into using dates between whenever Castlevania III took place and Dawn of Sorrow, the last game chronologically. Most people still want a game based on the 1999 battle that was Dracula's final resurrection, but who knows.

Keep the 2D for DS, SOTN and POR were both masterpieces. WHen Castlevania goes into 3D, it tends to alienate alot of the fans of the series for doing so not only for the way it looked but also because they were simply awful.

I'd like to see more remakes personally. Instead of creating brand new chapters in the series, just go back and replace the chapters from the older games with a much more expansive game. The WiiWare game was a good idea but just wasn't long enough IMO (despite being longer than the game it was based upon).

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
