Count me in. I never play online, on anything. For Pokémon it was just the GTS to fill out my Dex, until it got full of people only asking for Lv 1 Legendaries. I usually get obsessed with getting Sakurai's achievements, but I never touched the online on Kid Icarus nor I think I will use it for Smash 4.
For me the only benefit of my internet connection is for eShop and getting patches.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
On rare occasions I used to go online to play some Mario Kart 7, but my Wii U and PS3 have never been online, unless we're talking downloading from the eShop or PSN.
Generally I just love playing games alone, or else local co-op with a good friend.
My game library ranges from Mario Kart to Call of Duty to Tales of Xillia to Diablo 3 to Forza. To me gaming is about having fun - not blindly supporting only one company while thumbing your nose at "the evil other systems."
I don't like Mario Kart 8 online. If I am going to play something online I want some way of gauging whether I am getting better or not. (Deliberate skid start and doing artificially badly on the 1st lap seems to improve the results I get more than being in first for 90% of the race).
I play it on games where it works well and it doesn't take ages to find a game.
I wore out a circle pad in 3 months (And had to get it replacing under warranty) playing Mario Tennis Open.
Well they only thing I really play online with other people is World of Warcraft and Mario Kart 8. I am not very good at MK 8 online and always finish in 6th place or lower but for some reason I just find it relaxing.

I don't play online really at all, it's not common. For a few years I did Guild Wars 1 then 2 with a best friend, but after he died suddenly (in his 40s) I lost the motivation to continue. Beyond that in the past, I've done some console or computer gaming, but I've found with more and more people coming online and the mental (if not physical) age of the players going down with the ease of entry and having a microphone I find no fun in it at all. I can middle it pretty well with a fps game I own online, but having to consistently put up with people with no lives (or no jobs) who get godly at it to repeatedly get spam killed while hearing stupid (if not insulting, racist, etc) comments or having some jerk be a random stalker I got fed up with and bailed on it. You also get your cheaters and bug exploiters, even with stuff like Mario Kart which sucks the fun dry there too. To just save the headache and getting angry I just don't get involved. I've grown up with games at home playing them mostly alone, I prefer it, or if I can get 2 controllers and butts on the carpet, that's fine too.

I play online. All the time.
It gives me access to some real people to play with, rather than just the provided AI.
If the game has online play-- count me in.
I was moving into my dorm and went without online play for a little less than 12 hurs before I snapped and had to hook it up to play MK8.
... and then I had to call the tech help desk to do it because Wii U instructions were not provided or supported.
Still haven't managed to get my 3DS connected yet-- going to need that for Pokemon soon enough...
I only play an unhealthy amount of Online in Mario Kart 8
Other games like Disney Infinity and Splinter Cell Blacklist are barely touched when it comes to the online mode.
I think there was a study that apparently gamers actually prefer single player experiences (of course no reason to believe me cuz I don't have a source and I'm too lazy to look for it so take what I say with a grain of salt). I don't play online that much because life has me super busy so I do tend to stick to single player experiences that I can tackle in bursts.

That wouldn't surprise me at all as I've seen stuff about that too. Of course Activision, EA and a few others would demand you feel otherwise the way they behave, talk crap, and jam media down peoples throats because all their cash cows are online tied or they'd be screwed for their lack of creativity.

I play online alot but i prefer local play. When i do play online i rarely interact with people unless i have to as none of my real life friends play games unless they are actually at my house with me. I did use to be heavily involved in a few guilds in my mmo days but console wise i prefer to be anonymous and unattached to anyone.
Games like MK8 or Warframe are perfect for me in that regard, little interaction is needed and co-operative goals can be carried out autonomously. RE: Revelations or Resogun however are only 2 player, the way they're set up makes me feel too invested and if i need to go mid game or something i feel bad for the other player. On the flip side i hate relaying on people so duo team ups have the potential to be very annoying for me.
So yeah really depends on the game and the set up of the online game, i'm lucky enough to have people to do local play regularly or my attitude to online may be different.
At the moment, no. I'm on backlog duty/revisiting games. All set to change when MGSV: TPP, DB Xenoverse, Destiny and Far Cry 4 hit stores.
