Topic: Do you think Nintendo's Creators program will get axed soon?

Lately Nintendo has been making pretty poor decisions, as in much more than usual. The Creators Program beta is one of them. I understand Nintendo being worried about YouTube's broken copyright, but taking it out on YouTube content creators is not the answer. Still this thing is in it's beta, to we'll have to see if Nintendo will improve, or ax the program after this year. Do you think it will last long? We've already seen Microsoft backtrack with their Xbox One policies, and Nintendo has backtracked with that Melee at Evo fiasco back in 2013. So I'm expecting Nintendo to ax this soon, or simply watter it down to a more reasonable level.

I don't see that happening. Nintendo seems to have their partnership program worked through very far, so it's extremely likely that they're going to see this through to the final point.
Nintendo was pretty stupid to do this, but they make their conditions clear: Let's Player use their content to make money, so they demand a slice. And frankly, I'm cool with that. It's their games, so it's their rules. They're by far not the first ones to do such a thing, but at least they cooperate with YouTubers, instead of throwing content ID claims around without warning and taking down videos at random.
Also, keep in mind that they don't outright prohibit people from doing Let's Plays, unlike EVO, where they were entirely against Smash being part of it.

@Kaze_Memaryu: But I heard somewhere that if you're a Nintendo only channel, you're locked into only doing Nintendo content, and only the games that are on the white list are promitted. If you're part of the program, is this true?

You can also do it on a per video option. That way you don't have to dedicate your whole channel to Nintendo

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

While I don't think it was a good move, I also don't believe nintendo will remove the program unless youtube discontinues their policies allowing it. Nintendo is concerned about their copyright, which will make them stubborn on this issue.

Unfortunately, I don't believe it will be a worthwhile source of profit, and although I also don't believe the positive publicity produced by Let's Play videos benefits Nintendo significantly, the negative publicity from the program is detrimental.

Maybe. Nintendo do have a history of trying to rectify their mistakes (see the time they tried to stop Smash Bros being played at a tournament before quickly changing their mind).

Of course, I want to see it wrecked another way. New site comes in to replace Youtube, and doesn't do content ID stuff.

I highly doubt it. As far as I know, the only people who are upset about it are the ones who were profiting 100% off the videos and people who like to complain about everything that doesn't affect them. If your a user who post videos and don't have monetization enable, you're good. You can even post helpful videos on Super Smash Bros as long as you're not trying to make money off it. Btw SSB is not in the list of supported games.

Personally I feel it's messed up that even get paid in the first place doing this and other stuff that makes no sense to profit from (Fred Figglehorn comes to mind but for a slightly different reason) on YouTube, but with creating traffic on the site for ads and reaching a certain minimum in unpaid revenue (I think it was $100), it just one of those elaborate Internet business plan.
