As the next gen arrives, third parties prepare making games whether its finished or not finished. But are they seriously worth it? The fact that these devs expect too much from Sony and Microsoft and the fact that these devs are just better putting their games on PC and that their games remain unfinished just prove how incredibly worse these devs get.
Rayman Legends would have sold really well had it been an exclusive only.
hm..................
yes they matter there's no such thing as a 1st party PC game developer, for example
what doesn't matter is the licensed shovelware, no wait, it does matter because even being bad it sells.
a world without 3rd Party developers would be boring for gaming, 1st parties don't cover all genres.

Yeah, Rayman Legends would have sold a lot more if it was on one console rather than multiple.
The Wii U of all consoles too.

You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like

And can you go a little faster?!
3rd parties are where most of the profits are made on nearly all video game systems. Around 30% of the profits on 3rd party products go to the system manufacturer. And that's without even mentioning how they fill in the majority of the release schedule and keep people interested in their systems.
I'd love for @Artwark to explain how Rayman Legends would have sold more in total if it was a Wii U exclusive than if it was on every platform.

when people talk about third parties being better on PC's... do you guys know pc gaming is not that popular in Japan and that the majority ofJapanese games (with actual gameplay instead of pure visual novels at least) still only come to consoles.... Yes Final Fantasy now comes to PC, but still you cannot get Kingdom Hearts, Persona or any Shin Megami Tensei title, Tales of..., or even Senran Kagura in PCs

I guess the explanation is that that Nintendo fanboys would have rushed to buy the game to support a Nintendo exclusive but instead some fanboys got angry about the delay thing and refused to buy the game even if otherwise they would have bought it

uhhhhh... who said third parties are better on PC? it's just that there's barely anything that can be remotely called first or second party in PC gaming....

I'd be really surprised if that was the case. Rayman Legends has apparently hit the 1 million mark since its release on PS4 and XB1 (physical only). Around a third of those were on Wii U.
I really doubt the Wii U version would have sold three times as many copies on Wii U if it was exclusive. More, maybe, but not by that much. There just aren't that many people who would uselessly boycott it.

I don't think being an exclusive would have boosted sales by much, the thing that would of helped the most was releasing it in February during the start of the drought when new owners were hungry for games and there was next to no competition from other games.
Edit: I'm referring to only Wii U sales if you're talking about total sales of the game then no it would of sold less.
oh yeah about rayman, if it was a WiiU exclusive only the "WiiU version" would sell better but the total sales wouldn't be as good....

If Rayman Legends were an exclusive game, two things would have happened.
1. Legends would have sold really well on the Wii U since its the definitive version of the game and that the Wii U version sold more copies than the other versions. Go see for it yourself. Then everyone like Bayonetta 2 would complain why Legends was on Wii U.
2. It would've motivated other third party devs to make games for the Wii U as well.
