I had played a lot of free-to-play and pay-to-win MMORPGs and they had ruined my life. Back in 2006, I chose not to watch Kids WB on Saturdays because of MapleStory. I have to spent real life money just to purchase virtual cash shop items from the virtual Cash Shop just to increased my inventory because the inventory system in free-to-play/pay-to-win MMORPGs sucks. Then, the same thing in other MMORPGs. In total, I had spent $120 on purchasing inventory increase items in 3 MMORPGs; MapleStory, Grand Fantasia, and Dragon Saga. I could had spent that money to buy some shoes or games that you can actually purchase to play instead.
As I spent more time playing PC MMORPGs for free, I was basically missing out on life and ruining my own life continue playing them. I could had try to beat the games I had instead of wasting my time playing free-to-play/pay-to-win MMORPGs. In my opinion, MMORPGs sucks and they are the worst video game genre in history. Also, it's gets easy to level up to level 10 in any MMORPG but quite in the higher level. Your better off playing console/handheld games instead and try to actually beat it.
Free-to-play/pay-to-win MMORPGs not to played:
Maplestory
Grand Fantasia
Dragomon Hunter
Dragon Saga
Dragon Nest
Aura Kingdom
Grand Chase
It's nice to offer advice in order to prevent people from bad experiences, but not all free to play games are bad. I have played a game named Warframe on ps4 since 2 years ago and I have never been obligated to spend one dollar. I have gotten all my stuff in the game, and I have about 400 dollars or more worth in warframes, weapons and accesories and all gotten through the game, playing a couple hours on weekends, and not every weekend. In fact, there were whole months in which I didn't play at all. The game has gotten so popular recently that people are doing videos about how superior it is to destiny 2 and it's always one of Steam's most played games. Warframe isn't the only exception so maybe putting "Do not play THESE free to play/ pay to win games" would be more accurate, just my opinion though.
Well, I've played some Lord of the Rings Online, World of Tanks and Path of Exile for awhile and haven't had any of these issues. Right now I'm on medical leave from work due to undergoing chemo therapy so I have been playing more games than I have in a long time and still don't have this problem. Maybe, not to sound insulting because I don't intend that at all, it's all about setting personal limitations. Set a limit for yourself on how much time/money you will invest in any free-to-play game.

Never really played free to play stuff. Got bored pretty fast and they felt cheap.
I played final fantasy 14 for quite some time. Good game with great atmo, music and design. Maybe i will revisit it from time to time but i cant play a game for too long. There are too many interesting worlds to visit to just stay in one. And yeah grind leads only to more grind basically. I dont consider the time i spent with the game as lost. It was a nice experience.
Playing more games is definitely a good idea.

Wow. I never thought of playing free-to-play MMORPGs for just an hour a day instead of two or more within a day. Thanks, for the advice.
