@NEStalgia Did I say 'Chinese knock-off'? What I meant to say is that the 'Ouye' is a totally legitimate $70, Android-based, 4K games console - featuring a '"unique design" that bares no resemblance to any console past, present or future...my mistake!
If you're looking for cost effective, then like someone else said, wait until Prime Day just to see if there is any kind of discount on the slim or standard model.
Another option is buying a refurbished one from GameStop, and maybe trading in some old games toward it. Even if you trade in a game or two to amass 50 bucks of credit, you could find yourself with a standard PS4 for like 150 bucks, which is pretty darn cheap.
