Just buy a PS3 or 360 if you want to play it so badly.
Console launches are usually (or, from what I can tell, always) pretty sparse when it comes to games. People who buy stuff at lauch should expect some serious droughts for a while.

But seriously, from what I've seen from the game it looks like it is doing a Resident Evil 4-5 type of thing, with more focus on action and coop and less on survival horror. Haven't even played the demo yet, so I can't really judge, but that's what I'm getting as a first impression.

Yeah, and what a poor first impression that is. It's beyond me how someone can make an impression of a games he's not even played in any way. Fairly invalid.
Dead Space 3 looks good. I hope it's scary like its predecessors. It's quite obvious why the demo is the way it is.

Really? So it's not even like Dead Space 1 and 2 anymore?

It plays like the original two but with smooth game play. It's still traditional but reloading, melee'ing, stomping, etc. all play better. The fear factor, on the other hand, I'm not sure of since I haven't played the actual game. Yet.

I always enjoyed Dead Space for being a suspenseful shooter since it isn't really that scary. As it is basically RE4 in space, that fits pretty well for me.

The point of trailers and interviews is to make a first impression to the target audience. It is wrong to completely prematurely judge a game before playing it, but I always give games a chance before dismissing them. When I have the time I'll play the demo, but from what I've seen so far its just Resident Evil 5 all over again. That could very well change when I play the demo, but I already have a first impression of the game.

Judging a horror game based off gameplay that is supposed to appeal to all gamers with its superb game play, isn't a good idea. Resident Evil's trailers weren't necessarily dictating it was apart of the genre but moreso a zombie game. Which was the point.
Play the demo, but I must warn you, the demo is not particularly scary. lol
