I haven't been paying attention. Without spoiling much what's new/better in the game? I liked the original and even the Wii prequel but I need more reasons to buy a 3rd Dead Space game.
Looks decent, but I don`t know how different it is going to be; probably not much.

Even Dead Space 1 was too much Dead Space for me. So I doubt I'm gonna get the sequel. I guess some people really got into the whole atmophere of it, but for me it wasn't really scary, the area you played in was too confined and there was too much back-tracking. I much prefer Resi for survival horror.
I'll get the first one sometime before I get the second. I kind of went crazy with horror games (and movies) this past October and haven't felt in the mood for any more. XD

Picked this up day one, and I for one love it. The atmosphere is wonderful and was the main reason I loved the first DS. It's so cool that we also get DS: Extraction, because I am really enjoying that game as well. It just stinks that I don't have PS Move, so I just am using the thumb stick to target enemies. I can imagine how much better the game was on the Wii. Anyways, if you are a fan of horror/action/space (any of the above, really), DS2 needs to be in your collection.
-I actually wasn't going to pick the game up right away, but I just purchased the Alien Anthology blu-ray collection (really amazing set, btw!) and it just really had me in the mood for some space-horror.

Not getting it. I got the original recently because I wanted a horror game, because I don't have enough. Instead, I got a rather tedious and annoying action game with no scares at all. I'm on chapter 6 and the scariest thing is I might get a seizure from all the flashing lights.
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.
I REALLY wanna get this, but EA hiked the price up on the AU Steam Store, and currently, with no update I won't buy it for a bit.

@WaveBoy - Well unlike the with the Wii, developers can release patches for their games. So if enough people want Move pointer controls for DS2, then they could make it happen.
Dead Space 2 will not be getting Move support. I think actually would be a good fit for Move, but next months release of Killzone 3, and it's amazing 42gb of game will include Move and I've already gotten my hands of the game without Move, and can tell you it's Amazing!

I think one of the worst things that happened to the original Dead Space is that people (including EA) tagged it as a survival horror game. If you go into it thinking of it as an action game with a horror atmosphere on top you'll have a better grasp on the game. In other words: Don't go into it expecting a Silent Hill like experience and you won't be let down.

I know, I figured that out pretty quickly. But even as an action game it's just not worth it, imo. It's okay, but a lot of the time it just seems tedious and repetitive to me. Even as an action game it falls flat compared to the mass quantities of better action games available for the platform. Again, it's an okay game, but I just don't feel it deserves the praise it gets.

@ShadX You may want to rent Dead Space 2 if you can, then. It improves on pretty much everything although I'm not sure it'll be enough to change your feelings for the series.
