Topic: Dead Or Alive Fan Thread

Ok, so the more I play Dead or Alive 5 the more I realise this is my favourite fighting game of all time. 200+ hours of play now, and I am the master of Hitomi.

I love that the Dead or Alive games gives skilled players such an easy way to counter a button-mashing opponent. About the 100 hour mark and these games go from appearing simple compared to, say, Tekken or Street Fighter, to being wonderfully fluid and complex.

And the characters are fun and the DLC is entertaining. I've actually spent more on DLC than I have the game itself, and I don't regret that one bit.

Anyone else here a Dead or Alive fan?

I've only played Dimensions. I didn't really like it that much. I went right back to Virtua Fighter for my 3D fighter fix.

Its not a bad game, I did like DoA:D for the 3DS, it was fun to play, and it looked great. but the game is a bit broken, makes online play unplayble due to everyone using the same cheat.

I was initially the same. I stopped playing for months after about 20 hours play time for review. But then my wife got into it and we started playin multi together. It only really clicked for me after 100 or so hours but now I can't go back to, say, Dimensions.

I was a big fan of the original games back in the day, but I've only played an early prerelease limited demo build of DoA5 early last year since then. Honestly, I wasn't impressed with what I played, but so much of it has been altered in the final release. I do want to give it a go though - I plan to grab it on Vita this year at some point.

Loved DOA4, and I quite enjoyed DOAD as well. Haven't had the money for DOA5, though.

Ryu Hayabusa, Ayane, Kasumi, and Jan Lee are my favorite characters (can't stand Eliot, though).

Of the men, I like Brad Wong the most - if you get used to his fighting style he is nearly impossible to take down. I agree that Eliot is a fool.

Aside from Hitomi, the characters I use most are Lei Fang, Pai Chan and Brad Wong.

WOW Virtua Fighter was my frist fighting 3d game too lol...

Don't find the series to be anything special honestly. I much prefer 2D fighters.

I like the characters I like, because well, they're ninja! (and Jan Lee because I always love the obligatory Bruce Lee inspired character in fighting games).

Huge DOA fan here. Love playing all of them. I like how each has different strenghts, too. 5 for the serious players, whereas you can whip out 2 on the Dreamcast if you want to just play with a friend. Or you could whip out the 3DS version for some quick fights.

Oh, and Hitomi is the best character. Easily.

Yeah, I use Hitomi most of the time, I remember when I was waiting in lines at comic con, I would play DoA:D streetpass battles as..........Hitomi.
