That's ok then. :) It looked half good up until he whipped that gun out. I'd like to see a game like that, but one that stays truthful to the time period. A real grimy WW1 FPS could be great, and I've wanted one for a while what with the huuuge amount of WW2 games out there. It'd need to be really hard though... "stay in the trenches!!", n' all that.

I played the demo on Steam, it was kinda fun though it felt massively unpolished and I don't think it should be more than a budget game.

The civil war level has you fighting with a contemporary weapon for most of the time (but considering how shitty it is you really don't have much of an influence on the battle yourself), before you get bored by shooting down one out of 100 enemies in every battle you get a future SMG and really start mowing dudes down. A full contemporary battle would probably get boring quickly since you can't do much except kill one or two enemies once in a while in a battle of hundreds.

Sounds like war to me. To feel the pressure and intensity of war, I DON'T want to be some future dude mowing the poor souls down with next to no challenge. I want to be muddy and bloody, hiding in a bunker, with only a few bullets to my name, desperate to defend myself from the horror's of a WW1 battle. Now THAT would be a game I'd play. :)

cough Pretty sure that would be a fully automatic rifle cough
A semi-automatic rifle fires a round, ejects the casing and rechambers a new round with each pull of the trigger. An automatic rifle fires, ejects and rechambers without the need for the trigger to constantly be pulled. (and of course seperate to those are the single fire or bolt action that require the shooter to eject the round by means of a bolt or the equivilent to extract the casing and usually draw foward a new round)
There. I've done my gun nut part and chimed in on that.

No worries. It's just one of those weird things I can't stop myself from correcting. :)

A few bullets and three dozen allies. In those times you didn't do jack without your army. Besides, there are no bunkers in the civil war level I was talking about... In a WW1 level they'd most likely cast the player as a storm trooper so you actually do something, not just hang back and shoot without getting anything done.
