I was looking for a good RPG to get into for one of the new consoles, preferrably 360 or PS3. It doesn't look like there are many to choose from and the ones there are to choose from don't look to appealing. Any suggestions?
This is focusing only on 360 RPG's here as I don't have a PS3, but from what I've played, I'd recommend Fable II, Enchanted Arms (Not Brilliant but a good game still) and Star Ocean: The Last Hope.
Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are from the same studio... and feature Final Fantasy creator and music composer behind them, with Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball) as character designer on Blue Dragon...
Fable II is also a very good RPG, and it's its own kind of RPG lol, a must have.
don't forget the DS Remakes of Final Fantasy for RPGs on the go, and Blue Dragon Plus, a DS sequel to the Xbox 360 game.

The only RPG I've played recently was Fallout 3 which I highly recommend. I spent hours just roaming around trying to find things to kill. The GOTY edition is out this Tuesday!
DONT PLAY OBLIVION. it will swallow your soul and hundreds of hours of your life and you know what you will get in return? the feeling that you have been used.
Fallout 3 on the other hand is the best videogame ever made. flawless.

i put in about a 100 hours and i was just like "wtf?!" how did this happen?!?! that game just goes on and on and on and on, and than you get the downloadable content...and it hits you...you haven't been outside/ate food/talked to a actual human being in days. i had homies a while back who like had multiple 400+ hour save slots. they had saved so many times the save count was maxed out and wouldn't allow them to save anymore.
@DjPhatskillz.... dude I put 120+ in Fallout 3 and that isn't including DLC as it just recently got to PS3 and my brother has my copy of the game. I will prob put 150 easy into it. But yeah its a great game, not flawless but a great game nonetheless.

@Slapshot82 yeah but 120 hours in fallout and your character is pretty gnarls (not to mention the experience you get playing it for 100 plus hours isworth it). i remember after maybe like 50 or so hours in Fallout 3 and i could kill pretty much anything, especially when my boy Fawks started rolling with me. i love that mutant. Oblivion is not the best game in the world so over 100 and you start re evaluating your life. im not hating on oblivion at all. its one of my favorite games for the 360. the game just eats your soul.
also you stoked on hockey season starting? whats your team? im an anaheim ducks fan myself (due to my sothern california residency) but im also a big penguins fan. the penguins are freaking amazing!
I think I'm gonna wait a couple more weeks and see how reviews are for Borderlands. If it doesn't sound too bad I think I'm gonna pick it up. Dragon Age is looking pretty good to. There are so many releases in November I want
Star Ocean: The Last Hope was pretty good, although the second world was pretty lame, and the story is laughable, shamelessly ripping off Star Trek, and almost being a parody of it(almost). The combat is great though, and there are a lot of reasons to explore and revisit every planet that you got to. The Dungeon(s) is/are horrible, though - it's almost impossible to avoid enemies, and you have limited control of the camera in there, meaning you're bound to get blind-sided by an enemy that you're trying to avoid. Also, "The Last Hope" has a special meaning to me, since it was the last hope Tri-Aces had in my eyes - they haven't made anything good in years, until this came out.
Eternal Sonata was also pretty good, but the dialogue is horrendous, which is a shame, since it has such a great concept. The battles are a blast, though, and while the paths are linear, they're still fun to explore. The soundtrack is good, too.
I just got Lost Oddessey, but I haven't had time to really get a feel for it. So far it's been pretty interesting, but the story is kind of...weird. I rarely have any idea of what's going on in the story, so most of the time I just sit back and watch the pretty cutscenes, while trying to stop myself from thinking too hard about it.
I also have Mass Effect, but it's still sealed(I have a bad feeling about that game )
