Topic: Chatubahte: A Variant of Chaturaji (4P Chess)

Chatubahte is a variant I came up with a couple years ago for chaturaji, which is the oldest known four-player chess game. There rules for my variant can be found here.

Comments on the variant are certainly welcome, but the more immediate reason I had for posting this was that I am looking for testers. I'm going to be testing it with a friend using Google Docs new image editor / sharer. We need two more players to get this rolling.

As far as I can see, the program doesn't show history like the other Google Docs do, but I can include a text area where each player would log his move using an agreed on notation.

Most likely, the test game would be played just a few turns a day. Each player would have to check in on the game regularly to see if it's his turn. Would likely take a couple weeks. Alternatively, if by chance there were a time where everyone playing could get online at the same time, we could just use Gabbly.com to embed chat and play it live, foregoing the need for notating move history.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in testing this with me, please let me know! I have been wanting to test this forever, but never had an easy way to do it online or enough willing participants offline.

Also, while I'm on the subject of chess / chaturaji, my friend who's testing this with me also had a hand in creating a much more interesting and complex variant called Euro Chess. There's even a webapp linked on his site toward the bottom for playing it against the computer. It introduced different armies and abilities for each player. There are a ton of different countries, and it's really cool.
