Make it a horror game again.

Even just monster hunter and street fighter becoming nintendo exclusive would be tremendous.

Because if Konami actually wanted to be more of a presence in the Video game market, they could do so whenever they wanted. They still have plenty of IPs with strong fanbases, as well as Hudson's. How many Bombermans have we had since Konami took over Hudson? Honestly, I think Konami buying Capcom would be the worst case scenario at this point, next to a meteor obliterating Capcom's Home Office tomorrow. And IMO, both scenarios are just as likely.

That's the only one to be worried about actually. But honestly? I don't see how they could make it much worse than its been in recent years...

I'd be dumbfounded if someone wrote Nintendo a ton of letters that can be summarized as this:

The Resident Evil franchise has taken enough hit the last 5 year's that it's seriously not as viable anymore. Sad to say even if they made a good one and it was Nintendo exclusive I don't see it selling over a million copies. Yes monster Hunter alone would be worth it but only for its homeland. The series just doesn't sell as well in the west to buy them out.

Quick! Lets write nintendo a letter about why they should buy capcom one syllable at a time!

Yes there is but we don't know for sure with Megaman as it's been a while and I'm not sure if Street Fighter even sold all that well on the 3ds.

I personally would love to see Nintendo buy them but I don't think it's a good idea. Right now they are struggling to get the U off the ground and throwing more games at it might not be the solution. It may not ever hit 20 million systems sold for all we know. Shoot those days might be long behind consoles.

I personally think Atlus would've been a better fit but most wouldn't of liked that happening. Especially Sony fans.

According to VG Charts Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition sold 1.03 million units globally.

That's not to bad but might also be due to it being one of the few games available at launch that was any good. It seems the Wii U doesn't apply the same rules as the 3ds does though.

If Capcom continued to whether the storm and waited out turning the RE franchise too western then they could drop a nice bombshell of a Resident Evil right now. The Japanese games are getting new life now as I think Some people are getting tired of all the fps the west makes.

By that I mean RE5 and 6 being way to action oriented and westernized. If they went back to the series roots after the excellent RE4 (which was also westernized to an extent) they might be riding high right now, at least in their homeland. Monster Hunter just proves you can make money just on the Japanese market alone.

I think that's based on highly outdated figures. After the 3DS launched we were told SSFIV was the highest selling launch title, at 1 million units - this was only a week or two after launch.

Obviously VGChartz don't take this into account, but it was made available to download afterwards as well, which surely added more sales. I'm sure the game was profitable for Capcom, at least, unlike Resi Revelations.

You do realize Resident Evil 4 wasn't westernized unless you confuse action with westernization. RE4 was the first big third person shooter mattered and it inspired Gears which had huge success and why the next two Resident Evil games.

I feel a new Resident Evil game would have to straddle the line between the two.

Ah but Capcom stated they were satisfied with the sales of RE:R. Now if that was just pr for Nintendo and it's fans I'm not sure but they did state that a while back.

Like I said to an extent. It was heading that way. Don't get me wrong, I loved it so much to this day RE4 is in my top ten all time but I do believe it was westernized just enough to appeal to all markets.

Well the game did come out on four consoles I'd be worried if it didn't do great. But to counter your point Resident Evil 6 was considered one of their top selling games of all time. Meeting a middle ground between the two would be the best approach going forward, and none of that dual campaign crap.
